I was watching the so-called History Channel last night and as part of their “documentary” about the war in Vietnam they had about 30 minutes of coverage of the battle on Hill 875.

It was a huge, disgusting deception. The brass knew there were 2,000 NVA on that hill in extensive, deep, log reinforced bunkers and trenches because a Green Beret recon patrol had reported on these defenses a few days before the actual battle.

The pukes at the History Channel could have pointed out that the brass could have totally destroyed that hill and every last NVA defender by ordering non-stop raids by B52 bombers dropping 2,000 bombs. A 2,000 pound bombs leaves a crater about 30 feet across and 15 feet deep.  Such raids would have collapsed even the deepest bunkers and not a single NVA would have survived, not a single one.

Instead the brass ordered a few 500 pound bombs dropped and then some 105 artillery rounds. And then they ordered about 500 grunts to charge uphill against the many surviving defenders.

Every GI who died on Hill 875 was literally MURDERED by the brass.

There were many such instances where army and marine grunts were ordered to attack uphill against more numerous and deeply entrenched NVA defenders. In every case these known concentrations of NVA could have wiped out to the last man by B52s dropping 2,000 bombs. Those fortified hills were sitting ducks. The brass who led us in Vietnam were murdering cockroaches.
