The ROK and DPRK comparative elements of government

BY Duane Kirkland

3/28/2013

I will compare and share some insight on the inter cores of the republic of Korea, and the conflict between the democratic of republic of Korea, and what the cause and effect of the separation between the two that shaped its dislike of the two regimes in power.

After world war two Korea was split between the north and the south. Due to the fact of the war and influences abroad the north part of the country becomes a communist regime. The South Korea became a democracy. The north is found to live with a religious drought in its communist sector. The south has prospered due to the fact of freedom of religion and influenced by Christianity. Emigrants from china and Mongolia fled in and populated the Korean peninsula. Because of the cleansing of Korea from china this brought the Buddhist beliefs and much traditional culture from china that influenced Korea. In nineteen ten Korea ended up becoming a Japanese institutions and a regime.

When the world war two broke out the Japanese stifled influences lifestyles of the Koreans- All rights was taken away and private institutions was taken away and implemented to public institutions. The Japanese was focusing on the young to reprogram to the way of thinking. Even though the japs was doing this it only pulled Korea together in a unity for the Korean people. According to my investigation to the north and South Korea they have many elements that for the separations and the inter cores of the regimes. There is these types of element and facts pertaining to the function of both governments and there leaders and institutions that make the north and South Korea who they are today. In comparison the six elements are international relations and diplomacy, the mighty military power, economic growth in power, security and government in security, development, and the perceptions of projects internal and external for the both Koreas. South Korea, officially the

Republic of Korea (Daehan Minguk listen), is a sovereign state located in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula. The South Korean have dominated and achieved superiority in every dimension in regards to national powers in conventional military power. (Video link) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-21737859

International relations and diplomacy

The first push for diplomacy when it came to international affairs and it relations to each other, was the peninsula search for competitive advantage a game that the south Korea arguably won at the end of the cold war. The Russia and the china zero in on the RoK, South Korea, the United States recognized the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) even though both states are a member of the United Nations the (U.N.) under charter they are expected to respect each other and have the right to exist and prosper. Under traditions and identity the Koreans will probably reconcile difference in unity one day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QeSS6J7H4Ss

Key intention that was in the inter core of the leaders to impress the united states so that the trust could be built up for support and to enhance support from an international level to be funded and supported for a blanket of the security that the Americans offered after the cold war.

This even consisted in even sending supporting element to the Vietnam War on a big scale- General park Chung he was to lead the way for the ROKs export trade, and due to installed classes of supporting elements this influenced the exports and the market.

In the sense the enhanced the buildup of contract during Vietnam and this played a key economic structure for the RoKs During the 1980s ROK president RoH Tae dropped the attitude of the communist party’s affiliations to his installed elements. The he launched his own ideas and reached out to the Russians bloc in Europe and Asia, often leading with full blown embassies erecting.

After the overthrow of the military in 1987 the establishment and legitimate and democracy government the ROKs policies and pretty much lined up with the united states policy and in correlation too each other this was benefit to the Rok, of Korea the south. Leader president Kim D Jung made first priority to make large investments to china’s economy, to build a counter balance to the Rok dependency on japan. And to offset the DPRK relations with china-The (RoK) became a developing country by abandoned diplomatic competitions’ with the DPRK after became a United Nations member. This in regards to affect in a full pledged player in the diplomatic field- This also lead to an elite group supporting peace around the world and security.

Military power

Korea has lots of mountains surrounding and also by the ocean with only one border. Well defensive posture from outside element for attack.

The ocean has external powers for placement of military into a conflict area of Korea-By over flights for disperse of power.

The (dprk) has a hardened base deep underground, based with the infantry forces. The y can function without supply’s for about a month but then would have to be supplied.in the posture of the underground they have a good advantage with mobility and ground forces if the supply’s is current in the battle field.

The

ROK by in correlation to the opposite advantage- They have a large industrial capacity twice the population with external allies like the United States of America, and the best high energy and beliefs when it comes to the combat elements. According to internet (The ROK has a powerful military composed of ROK Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines. With 0.67 million active duty and 3 million reserve force soldiers, it can field three field armies.)

The Army is the dominant force and operates 2,300 modern tanks and nearly 700 combat helicopters)

(The Air Force has over 500 attack, fighter, and support aircraft. The Navy has over 170 ships organized into three fleets. The Marines include an amphibious support group)

(The ROK spends about 2.6 percent of its GDP on defense or about $26 billion—nearly as much as the DPRK’s entire GDP. The ROK plans dramatic upgrades in military technology over the next decade to enable the armed forces to fall to half a million active and 2 million reserve personnel by 2020).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=J-AZNQw2dws

Economic power no matter what the ROK has outstripped the DPRK according to the power of the military they can’t be taken by force from any elements when in support by the American military. The RoK has a well displayed educated work force with controlled wages. Lots of capital and savings and investments to certain sectors of its nation- Controlled by an authoritarianism government-

Authoritarianism

Authoritarianism is justified as a political system using the same criteria as democracy, legitimacy efficiency and effectiveness. Should all people live under democracy?

What is authoritarianism?

(The art or science of influencing people on a civic or individual level, when there are more than two people involved)

5

Today in comparison when it comes to the control of regimes and institutions the fact of the matter there is always an authoritarian component in the interest in a direct method of controlling it for either one or many peoples interest. This would be an art in setting the perception to lead and control the people who make the institutions powerful and with the authorities it would allow leaders to control the economic and military resources and to set the perception to the public eye.

Along with this art of control and with correlation this leads to legitimacy for social control over the groups or institutions that the leader or leaders want. Without some kind of direct political mechanism to enhance the growth of the institutions or group it would be difficult to have authoritarianism and control.

With the authority in control and legitimacy, this is a key to an element in a group or administration or institution would directly lead to a wheel fine-tuned mechanism to run smoothly and efficiently.

Example if the Korean leadership would allow its lay people to function as part of the group they would have groups of all people on one fine page to run effectively and efficiently if the legitimacy was unity with the authority of all in a freedom of individual rights and freedom of all groups to directly run with information and input for all of its people, not just for the regime and its leadership who utilize powers to directly enforce slavery.

Yes all should live under democracy because it seems to be the best way an intuition and government agencies have opportunity to have a balance of power for the leadership and all classes of its society. I think all countries that are democracy should lead and set the example of showing the world how democracy is a well fine-tuned wheel that runs effectively and efficiently to help its people.

Because of the authoritarian institutions and government elements and policy’s they the DPRK was left behind.

The rok growth fell to 4-5 % annually until economics crisis in late 2008 and another drop in its GDP in 2009. The RoK economy faced many challenges. Exports and labor dropped. They had corruption of political elements. And the overmatch of the DPRK looking down there throat along with their economic collapse and integration cost.

The DPRK was disastrous. With no control of trade and very low opportunity- Affected by grossly inefficient factor inputs it also has it desirability by the military controlling its resources. When there is nothing left for it lay person or lower classes.

Governance and internal security-

As a rok political system weakly independent and a national assembly with no policy making and rule with authoritarian military rule- Even though the rok has a strong security force that are so called independent from the military. Their intelligence service, presidential security, and guard, and the coast guard, plus a police agency- These play a key role in the standoff with ROK V DPRK stalemate.

Globalization

According to the international study book, globalization means (early period of globalization from 1800 to 1950 driven by mercantilism and colonialism. A way of communications to the international states and enforcing deregulations and enhance communications among institutionalized states and regimes.

Example, the united relations that enforce charter, laws deregulated and regulated by the united nations of super powers assisting through communication to a state like sanctions to control another state for improper communications and improper laws that the state does not follow in the charter. Almost like supreme law. Korea for example wants to seek a powerful weapon to enhance it economic power and military institutions power to be able to play a much higher role in the world economics and power control over other state’s and rivals.

Korea try’s to emerge a part in the world market by trying to fight against the dominated multinational companies and other states, leading to diminish capacity for other rival states. For a state to control a national economics this will bring power to the table of negotiations to rivals-

In order to prosper the economic state or regime the process by its institutions, etc., expands to operate internationally for its main goals and when the individual states or regimes don’t play the game, this leads to conflict to economic international problems as an economic international problem.

To make it simple to understand the international has world laws implemented to enhance the world order and to balance power for those who are enforcing it. In comparison to the United States of America it’s a set of laws, charters make sure that there is fair trade and freedom of trade to growing international states.

If the charter of laws from the international laws are broke this brigs displace to those who don’t want to play the world game of faire economic trade to states and its institutions who have key roles in the economic market of the world. Balance is the key factor of globalization across the world in modern time.

According to research on the net

(The DPRK is often described as a “Communist state one-man dictatorship” (CIA, 2010) but this misrepresents the unique nature of the DPRK polity. In 1998, the DPRK official revised its constitution to make it “an independent socialist state representing the interests of all the Korean people,” which “which legally embodies Comrade Kim Il Sung ‘s Juche state construction ideology and achievements.” (DPRK 1998)- This revision was amended in 2009, when Kim Jong Il was formally elevated to “Supreme Leader” and any reference to “communism” was expunged (Choe, 2009).

Social Development The ROK has established a social standard. With a high level of living and education and a long life period expectancy- The RoK with regards to humane development and cores a lot less well in comparative terms. Gender aspects the ROK ranks 61 out of about 100 countries in the powerment measure with value. Migration, the ROK emigration rates low. Communications, the ROK has a very well phone system and much of a wide internet system to reach out to the world.
8 THE ROK PROSPECTS IT’S LOOKING GOOD FOR THE ROK ECONOMILY BECAUSE OF RELATIONS WITH CHINA, JAPAN, AND THE AMERICAN INTITUTIONS ABROAD AND AT HOME. Also this would enhance communication and transportation among the two Koreas and also unite technology between the two. For the future it unresolved but anything can happen, currently the new young leader of the North Korea is leading with same pattern as his father had done. This could have a very large economic impact on relations to the international community’s abroad and even at home in the United States of America. Time will tell the outcome of it social economic situation.
