Happy Easter :  Leavenworth Neither Forgiven, Nor Forgotten.

Leavenworth Ten should be on the first page of every newspaper. The fact that soldiers who risked their lives for the greater good are being jailed should make big headlines.

Everyday. Until all of them are free.

Politically correct media have a bizarre allergy to this “old news”, “tamed” editors explain that there are more important stories (Justin Bieber has just spilled his drink).We should shut up,”get over” and forget.

 Like hell we will.

The “authorities” has mistaken “Happy Easter” for “Happy Middle- Eastern” but many of us will include John, Evan,Clint, William, Larry, Michael (Leahy and Williams), Joseph, Corey and Derrick and  in our prayers. Liberation of Michael Behenna is a bitter-sweet moment, because even if our congratulations to his family are sincere, the ordeal of other soldiers is not over. We’ve been in the Leavenworth state of mind for a long time. Brilliant military strategists fired (too efficient?), patriotic soldiers punished for asking legitimate questions (too pertinent?), a highly decorated combat commander “relieved from teaching duties” (who was Lieutenant Colonel Dooley supposed to be: an Imam?).

A country that respects itself pays respects to veterans. A country where soldiers are persecuted and veterans homeless cannot pretend to be civilised. And who is such a country governed by? The case of the Leavenworth Ten, is neither only a “military problem” nor an exclusively “national secret” and it won’t be swept under Obama’s magic carpet. We are talking about human right violation, so this is an international matter and a concern of all the humanity. The entire world deserves to know what this administration (with all due disrespect) is doing to American soldiers and veterans.

Leavenworth is neither forgiven, nor forgotten. This time there will be no Operation Paperclip. The jailed soldiers didn’t commit any crime (unless doing their duty or acting in self-defence is considered a crime) and it would be illogical to ask for forgiveness, but it’s our turn and our duty to demand their freedom.
