Official: Renault Scala Automatic Announced; to Launch Soon
French automaker Renault, better known as makers of the Duster, has officially announced the automatic version of their premium sedan Renault Scala. The car will be launched sooner, price and other details will be disclosed on the launch. The AT version of Scala has been named as the Scala CVT, and it will be available on the RXL and RXZ petrol variants only. The Scala has got an all new X-tronic transmission system, which ensures to offer higher fuel efficiency and performance as well as a lower cost of ownership. The Scala CVT combines pioneering composition with flexibility to provide a benchmark-setting alternate option to existing offerings in the segment with a class-leading fuel efficiency of 17.97kmpl (ARAI figure).
Speaking on the occasion, Marc NASSIF – MD, Renault India Pvt. Ltd. said, “With more and more cars on the road as well as frequent stop-and-go traffic, India has been seeing an increase in demand for automatic sedans in recent years. However, despite the growing interest for these cars, petrol automatic vehicles are still limited to a 6% share in the premium sedan segment because they deliver lower mileage and higher cost of ownership”.
