There’s a lot of reasons why you can’t (affordably, if at all) import many of the cars on the ‘banned’ list. From being unsafe to downright hazardous. There are a number of ferraris that are banned because they have insufficient lighting to see safely at night, they don’t have enough ground clearance to prevent their own wreck when they hit a ‘road gator’ on I-80 at 100-mph, and on-and-on.
Yes, there are issues with emissions that ban some, and to a large part, that’s ignorant on several fronts, but when it comes to downright ‘unsafe’ that can’t be ‘resolved’ during an ‘importation-refitting’, they probably need to stay right where they are.
There’s a reason why all the cars in Greece look like they’ve been to Saturday Night’s Demolition Derby, and it’s not just because looking at someone gives them the right of way when driving, either.
