“The City of Oxford and its archaeological advisers have completed a review and evaluation of a stone mound that was identified near Boiling Springs, Calhoun County, Alabama, and have concluded that the mound is the result of natural phenomena and does not meet the eligibility criteria for the Natural [sic] Register of Historic Places,” according to a news release Smith issued last week.

This is a spit in the face to every Native American living today and to the millions European-Americans butchered over the last several centuries. It’s profit and greed and ideology of cancer triumphing over dignity, history and identity. I am absolutely against this and I ighly recommend the Native American nations in Alabama and the surround states to rally around this cause and save what is left if possible. Somehow, somewhere this has got to stop. I am flabbergasted. Idle no more, rally your American connections, get those good people down there. People of Oxford, boot this Mayor of yours out of office.
