The main goal was to answer the question “how can the U.S. and the world respond to the tragic aftermath of World War I?”. The culmination of this research led to the creation of Woodrow Wilson’s 14-Points and the League of Nations. In 1919, during the Paris Peace Conference, these scholars would also attend these meetings. Thus were the Council on Foreign Relations beginnings.
