Common Core Curriculum- Dumbing Down of Our Children

Actually to call “Common Core” new is incorrect. The name Common Core Curriculum is not new it’s just re-branded. The idea to insert a “New Math” system into our nations schools was first discussed in 1928 at a meeting of the Progressive Education Association (PEA). It was openly stated at this meeting : “That is what we want… a math that the pupils cannot apply to life situations when they get out of school!”. Later it was revealed that the PEA was a communist front.

The actual introduction of meta-mathematics to our schools did not take place until 1952 and was called “Modern Math”. It failed to take hold at that time and was reintroduced in our schools in the 70′s but this time it was called “The New Math Method”. That was about the same time our Government started pushing for the “dumbing down” of our children. You see it’s not about making our children smarter and better prepared for the real world or college, not at all. The basic concept is to teach our children to disregard logic and/or just do what they’re instructed to do, regardless of whether it makes any sense at all, and that through “blind obedience”, by doing what we so instruct, it does not matter if you come up with the correct answer because we’ll reward you for an incorrect answer just because you followed our instructions.

Before I go any further let me say that I took some of the math examples I found on Common Core and, using their system, I inserted different number combinations to see if I could arrive at the correct answer. The system seems to be based on the the numbers 5 and 10 (called friendly numbers) and use those as the basis for problem solving. I must admit, no matter what number combinations I tried I was able to arrive at the correct answer every time.

Here’s a simple example; What is the correct number for this simple subtraction 32 – 12=?? That’s simple 32 – 12 = 20

But that’s not how you arrive at the answer using Common Core Mathematics (remember everything revolves around the numbers 5 and 10). Here’s the Common Core solution to this simple math problem;

12 + 3 = 15

15 + 5 = 20

20 + 10 = 30

30 + 2 = 32

*Notice that there are three columns of numbers;

• First column starts with the number you are subtracting form the base number of 32 which is 12. Second column is the number you must add to this to make it a “friendly number” which, in this case, is 3. Third column is your new friendly number, in this case it’s 15.

• This friendly number is moved to an new line under the 12 column.

• To the 15 you add a 5 so it becomes a friendly number in multiples of 10, which is now 20.

• Move this down to new line under the 12 column and add a new friendly to this so it comes as close to the base number of 32 without going over which, in this case is a 10 which makes it a new friendly number of 30.

Lastly, move the 30 to a new line under the 12 column and add any remainder (less than 10) to it so we end up with our base number of 32. In this case that’s a 2.

• Now you are ready to find your (the) correct answer to the simple math problem.

• How so?? Simple, add the middle column of numbers together for the correct answer. 3 + 5 + 10 + 2 = 20. Heck, now that wasn’t that hard after all, was it?

Common Core has taken a very simple math problem that 99% of our children can do in their head in less than 5 seconds and made it a very complicated and unnecessary cumbersome way to arrive at an answer. But here’s the kicker, as long as you do it by their system, as instructed, it matters not if you don’t find the correct answer, you will be rewarded! Basically it’s induced Cognitive Dissonance!

They do this because of their arbitrary convolution and insane need to generate trivial steps. This confuses and demoralizes the average pupil, collapsing confidence in the subject. Psychologists have discovered that when you lack confidence that transference means you will learn to hate that subject, and thus will not seek to progress effectively. Bill Gates does not want the average American to be skilled or have significant critical thinking ability. This Common Core Curriculum is nothing more than a blatant attempt to dumb down our children and make them nothing more than mindless, obedient idiots that do as told and nothing more.

But wait, there’s more following is a example taken form a 4th grade english  homework assignment;

“Ruby sat on the bed she shared with her husband holding a hairclip. There was something mysterious and powerful about the cheaply manufactured neon clip that she was fondling suspiciously. She didn’t recognize the hairclip. It was too big to be their daughter’s, and Ruby was sure that it wasn’t hers. She hadn’t had friends over in weeks, but here was this hairclip, little and green with a few long black hair strands caught in it. Ruby ran her fingers through her own blonde hair. She had just been vacuuming when she noticed this small, bright green object under the bed. Now their life would never be the same. She would wait here until Mike returned home.”:

• Why is Ruby so affected by the hairclip?

• How has the hairclip affected Ruby’s relationship?

• From where did the hairclip most likely come?

You tell me, why is the Common Core teaching 4th graders about husbands that cheat on their wife’s? Simple, to destroy the family as a unit! Fathers (and husbands) can not be trusted because they cheat on their wife’s! I’m willing to bet that somewhere in the assignment there is a similar question establishing that Mothers (and wife’s) can not be trusted either. Destroy the family as a trusted unit and induce blind obedience to Government and public officials and do exactly as you are instructed to do! Sound familiar? It should, during WW II it was called Hitler Youth. Some even turned their family in and had them arrested and thrown in concentration camps.

Come on people, are you really going to allow this to happen to your children? Are you going to allow a corrupt and devious government to steal not only their dreams, but destroy any real future they might have a chance at?

SAY IT AIN’T SO!

Don’t let any government or any establishment or anyone what so ever mess with the minds of your children! DON’T DO IT!!
