Arpaio: Fake Birth, National Security Threat!

Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he intends to move his investigation to higher authorities in the federal government.  The problem is the obvious choices report directly to Obama.  But Arpaio says he cannot stand by and hold onto information that threatens national security.  On the other hand, he will keep the file open in case the feds ignore the information.

Here’s the National Security issue — the discovery that under Hawaiian law, a foreigner can obtain a state birth certificate.  According to Hawaii Revised Statute 338-17.8, an established resident, not necessarily a citizen, who paid taxes in the state for one year, is eligible to register an out of state or foreign birth with a Hawaiian birth certificate.

Also, investigators found that handwritten codes marked in pencil on the birth certificate released by the White House did not match information entered into fields on the same document.  Lead investigator Mike Zullo says that means it’s been tampered with.

And the strange case of the Nordyke twins came up at the news conference.  Back in 1961, Susan and Gretchen Nordyke were given certificates ending in 637 and 638.  Obama, who was supposedly born one day earlier was given an out of sequence  number ending in 641, something that isn’t supposed to happen.
One of the most telling aspects of the press conference was the reaction of reporters, who mostly made personal attacks against Arpaio’s team, rather than asking actual investigative questions.  I guess the unconvinced want to remain unconvinced, or maybe they realize they’d be out of a job if they did not toe the politically correct line.
