Ron Paul: ‘I Want To Do Away With The Income Tax’

Congressman Ron Paul and Senator-elect Rand Paul joined Fox & friends this morning to discuss the Obama administration’s plan to hike taxes.

Obama and the Democrats seek to use socialistic methods to redistribute wealth, however history shows lowering taxes on the wealthy actually increases revenue for the federal government, but don’t tell that to the democratic-socialists.

Both Ron & Rand Paul both oppose any tax hikes. As both have made the case we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. We take in 2.4 trillion dollars in revenue per year, let’s simply spend that amount!

Two points Senator-elect Rand Paul makes in the interview:
1. The job creators – people who make over $200,000 a year – will be punished if the Bush-era tax cuts expire. Why punish the job creators when unemployment is rampant?
2. Businesses make business decisions based on tax rates years in advance. By not having certainty on what exactly your tax rate will be – you have uncertainty in all business decisions. Uncertainty in business causes businesses to second guess employment decisions. It’s difficult to consider expanding when you don’t know how much in taxes you might have to pay. Uncertainty simply disrupts business forecasting, thereby leading to unnecessary unemployment.

Congressman Ron Paul takes his time in the interview to state he wants to completely abolish the income tax! Congressman Paul also takes a moment to bash the unconstitutional bailouts that originated from George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

As the democratic-socialists call for taxing those successful in our capitalistic system – the people making over $200,000 per year – few politicians are willing to stand up and simply defend capitalism. Why should the so-called “rich” pay a higher percentage in income taxes? A person making $200,000 per year already pays a lot more in taxes than a person making $50,000 a year – at least 4 times as much!

There is simply no moral justification to steal from the successful (at a higher rate) to benefit the unsuccessful.
