Egypt’s Ruling Class Running Away?

Interesting from Zero Hedge:

Earlier we reported that according to rumors, Gamal Mubarak, together with his family, had left Egypt and were spotted in the UK. We now have confirmation from the Examiner, that indeed, the Egyptian president, Hosni’s, son has left his battered country and had relocated to London indefinitely. What is unclear is how much gold, and other inedible commodities, the president-in-waiting had stowed away in his 97 pieces of luggage. Then again, with Egypt holding (having held?) 75.6 tonnes of gold to Tunisia now 5.7, 97 sounds about right…

We shall see how this comes out – but things are getting very rocky in all tyrannical regimes these days, and as the global economy worsens this sort of thing will only accelerate.  The genesis of this particular crisis is that there simply isn’t enough of the basics to sustain the lower end of the economic scale.  Its not that we can’t produce enough for all, but that we don’t.  And we don’t because our economic system is screwed up – with American farm land lying fallow while food shortages spread…

This is a dying world order – a world order built on usury, fiat money and debt.  For nigh on a century, we have lived under this economic regime and it has led the whole world to economic catastrophe…where, now, we can’t even be sure there will be enough food to eat because economic incentives, distorted by the economic system, have made it “unwise” to grow enough food (“unwise” in the strict sense of highest rate of return on dollars invested…not “unwise” as in “we don’t need food”).  Tunisia has had its revolution, Algeria and Egypt are on the brink…where else will this spread?
