Reid’s proposed illegal changes to Senate rules paves way for outright despotism!

What do Hugo Chavez, Adolph Hitler, Harry Reid & Barack Obama have in common?  They were all duly elected officials that ran on Socialist platforms, who immediately went to work illegally changing rules and subverting their constitutions with the intention of “fundamentally transforming” their republics into Dictatorships.  The first two succeeded.  Will we allow Reid and Obama to follow in their footsteps?

Reid, along with complicit Socialist Democrats and door mat RINOs, are systematically destroying our Republic; removing the checks and balances, dismantling the separation of powers, and instituting unconstitutional practices that replace ordered liberty with despotism.   If they succeed, we will be left with Obama as absolute ruler with all powers usurped to the executive branch and Marxist marching orders carried out by presidentially-appointed, sycophantic “apparatchiks” — bureaucrats and leftist political hacks serving as “yes men” ready to carry out the unconstitutional policies of Obama’s Marxist regime.  
Harry Reid’s Rule Busting Line Up:

1.  ILLEGALLY change the Senate rules — eliminating supermajority requirements
2. Eradicate the Filibuster – silencing debate
3. Eliminate the “Hold Letter” – muzzling conscientious objection
4. Abolish any delay of Motions to Proceed – steamrolling unimpeded legislation

Any one of these four rule changes will essentially overturn the November elections; gutting any effectiveness in Senate accountability, transparency or reform by incoming Constitutionalists.  Amnesty, Cap & Trade, ObamaCare Funding and more will roll through the Senate unhindered by healthy debate, due deliberation or conscientious procedural actions from those who still believe in our Constitution.

First he announced his intention to illegally change the definition of a supermajority, next he announced his intention to eliminate the very necessary filibuster which guarantees a minority party’s right to debate legislation, now the Rotten Reid is going after “the Hold Letter”!

Lately, sleazy Socialist-Democrats have been falsely characterizing this time-honored procedure as the Secret Hold Letter, in attempt to delegitimize the practice as cloak and dagger, shrouded-in-darkness, dirtball politics.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  To put it simply, the Hold Letter gives a single conscientious Senator the ability to slow down unconstitutional legislation to ensure the Senate body has time to fully review the bill and duly deliberate upon it. The Hold Letter protects the integrity of the Senate and the Constitution by preventing legislation from being rammed through by the majority before Congress and the People have the opportunity to thoroughly review the bill and voice their concerns. 

Eliminating the Hold Letter would give Dirty Harry the ability to remove even the smallest of speed bumps to tyrannical laws and actions, and force immediate votes on legislation that no one, with even the largest of Congressional staffs, could possibly have read.

Reid has proven time and again his willingness to resort to outright trickery to ensure the complete destruction of our liberty — multiple thousand page bills introduced simultaneously, midnight votes within mere hours of receiving bills, last minute secret amendments negotiated behind closed doors, and even hiding illegal rule changes in the back pages of completely unrelated bills, hoping no one would catch his dastardly schemes.  We MUST stop this complete and utter disregard for the rules and STOP the destruction of our republic!

As his first order of business, Dirty Harry Reid announced his intention to ILLEGALLY change Senate Rules in order to hi-jack the results of last November’s elections, and derail the course correction of the new Congress being mapped out by Constitutional Conservatives. 

In 1959, the Senate made it ILLEGAL for any future Senate, at the beginning of a new Congress, to force a rules change unless approved by 2/3s of all duly sworn Senators.  This was specifically enacted to preserve the checks and balances on political power mongers, and to prevent a narrow majority from subverting the will of the people while establishing itself as a dictatorial ruling party.  Dirty Harry Reid has plainly decided the law doesn’t apply to Marxists like himself.  He is decreeing that only a simple majority, (50 Democrats + Joe Biden), is all it takes to change the rules.  Apparently, Harry’s new motto is “if you can’t beat ‘em, cheat ‘em” – the old school Vegas mobster mentality at its best.

Once Harry Reid manages to dump the supermajority rule, he intends gut the rest of the rules that serve to protect the Senate’s integrity, paving the way for completion of Obama’s Marxist regime.  If we do not stop Rotten Harry Reid NOW, the Senate’s vital traditions of due deliberation, freedom of speech and essential debate, not to mention serving the national interest while properly representing their state constituencies, will be nothing more than ancient myths lost in the mists of time, and our glorious republic nothing more than a cherished memory.

Reid has already announced the first action he will take after illegally changing Senate rules and tightening his death grip on the Senate.  Next up – Reid will eliminate debate by ending the filibuster. 

Reid invented a new rule that will make moot the time-honored Senate requirement of a 3/5s supermajority for more serious votes, and completely shut the Republicans out of any debate – giving Democrats the ability to ram through the rest of their devastating Obama-driven leftist agenda with a simple plurality.  When Democrat Alcee Hastings recently said “we make up the rules as we go along,” he wasn’t kidding; and the unprincipled Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid apparently agrees. 

For over 200 years the Senate has allowed debate on any bill, giving the opposition the opportunity to speak, amend and deliberate upon legislation as is their sworn duty.  In fact, any Senator has the RIGHT to speak as long as necessary on any issue.  This rule was designed to prevent the “tyranny of the majority” from literally becoming a despotic “ruling party” that could completely steamroll opposing minority views.  But like the old commissars of the collapsed Soviet Union, Dirty Harry Reid despises “deviationists” and he doesn’t want any more debate – he wants total and absolute control of Senate business, so he can demolish America and recreate it according to Obama’s Marxist vision.  Turning us into a banana republic ala Hugo Chavez’s vision for Venezuela is not far behind!

As it stands right now, debate won’t be cut off unless a supermajority, (already diluted from its original 2/3s to its present 3/5ths), of Senators vote to end the debate.  Dirty Harry doesn’t have a Democrat-controlled supermajority and he knows the Republicans we sent to Washington will insist on full debate for each of the Pelosi/Reid/Obama Marxist bills he intends to bring to the floor.  And something big must be coming down the pike, because Reid would never attempt to pull a history-insulting procedural outrage this large and offensive unless the political pay-offs were enormous.

Reid and Obama must be calculating that the only way they can stop the Republicans from at least nominally upholding the Constitution and the Rule of Law is for Democrats to rewrite the rules of the Senate, so that raw majoritarian thuggery can prevail – without the daylight of any free debate – and bills forced through unimpeded in favor of tyrannical Marxism.

REID MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO OVERTHROW THE RULE OF LAW IN FAVOR OF THE RULE OF MEN  SOCIALIST-DEMOCRATS! 

The future of America is literally at state.  Reid obviously intends to strike some fatal blows against freedom AS SOON AS THE SENATE SCHEDULE ALLOWS and we must ACT NOW to save our Republic from decline into utter totalitarianism.
