Michigan was recently in the news because a $1 million lottery winner was still receiving welfare. On my way into work, a local radio station was discussing how many people know someone abusing their government aid. Their station was flooded with calls about food stamps. One guy called in to tell them he had been buying $250 worth of food stamps from his neighbor for $50. This had been going on for a couple years. Now why would someone do that?
