Exploiting 'Hate Crimes'

Not too many murders and other serious crimes are committed out of love and compassion.  Whether it be, white-on-black, straight-on-gay, or dog-on-cat, there must be some deep seeded hate between the two.  The same hate is there if the crime is between two white people, two heterosexual’s, or two dogs for that matter.  I personally don’t understand the need to place a special ‘hate crime’ label on any serious crime.

I understand, in some situations, the difference between the combatants is motivated by hatred due to the color of their skin, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs, but I simply don’t see how labeling any particular crime a hate crime does anything to make the situation better.  Let’s take the media’s most recent circus as an example.  Do you really believe the Martin family feels any better about their son being dead due to the fact his murder was labeled a ‘hate crime?’  Trayvon Martin is dead whether the crime was fueled by prejudices or not and George Zimmerman deserves a fair trial free from racially motivated anger. 

The term is rarely used by the media as a cry to end prejudices.  They aren’t using it to bring attention to a concern they feel deeply about.  The media and the liberal left, one and the same, are using the term hate crime for two reasons.  One, the media can get massive coverage for a story by using the term.  Rather than cite the Trayvon Martin case again, let’s take a look at the Detroit Tiger’s Delmon Young.  Young’s case in New York City this past week was already a huge story for the media considering the fact he is a professional athlete.  When the reports came in about a racial slur during the altercation, the media jumped on the opportunity.  In the end, it appears as if a drunken Young simply shoved a man to the ground outside his hotel.  While I am not making light of the situation, as any famous person needs to hold themselves to a much higher standard, I doubt this case would have become much at all without the famous factor and the ‘hate crime’ element.

The second reason I believe the media and liberal left exploit the term hate crime, is more of a reason for concern.  The left thrives on division.  Their agenda requires entire groups of people to feel, for the lack of a better term, crapped on.  If blacks, homosexuals, low income families, and other liberal targets don’t feel like someone is purposely trying to hold them back, they will no longer need liberal politicians and policies to come swooping in to pick them up.

Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton don’t show up on the scene of a crime because they care about you; they jump on any opportunity to gain money, power, and fame.  They take advantage of so-called hate crimes to gain that notoriety.  Liberal politicians are no different.  They have a one track mind and it is on the non-stop path to power at any cost.  Exploiting hate crimes is an easy way to fuel division and widen the supposed gap between the haves and the have-nots.    This gap is the most essential tool for their power.

The sooner the liberals can get everyone in this country feeling crapped on by another, the sooner they will gain total control.  The anti-bullying campaign is a new avenue to widen this gap and is starting to work hand in hand with the hate crime campaign.  Just like hate crimes, Liberals are making bullying a one way street.  Blacks, gays, Muslims, etc are incapable of hate crimes and the poor little bullied guy is incapable of bullying.  Taking shots at Christians and fat Republicans is perfectly fine – they aren’t the perceived minority.

This exploitation from the left is no less of a hate crime than the supposed hate crime itself.  Liberals are knowingly fueling the fire and opening the division between entire groups of people. 

Yes, people do get killed and bullied because of the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, and their religious beliefs, but talking endlessly about the universal hate between the parties involved does nothing but make things worse. 

I don’t mind prejudices being pointed out when they are found to be present, but try to keep your own prejudice out of the process.
