Obama blames GOP for credit downgrade, but that flies in the face of the reality of what S&P actually said

Our blamer-in-chief is up to his usual … blaming others for the policies and agenda that he himself is deeply involved in and the cause of.

During his Monday press conference, President Obama blamed Republicans for the first ever credit downgrade of the United States back in 2011, but as Phillip Klein aptly points out at The Examiner, this is contradicted by what ratings agency Standard and Poor’s actually wrote when it issued the downgrade. Blaming GOP debt ceiling brinkmanship alone for the S&P downgrade is to ignore the damage done by Obama’s unwillingness to make meaningful reforms to our nation’s broken entitlement system.
