“NEOSCC is a group of 33 organizations from across the 12-county Northeast Ohio region that have come together to help ensure that Northeast Ohio is sustainable and resilient and that the things we value most about our region are protected and preserved. NEOSCC will shortly launch an effort to engage the entire region in a broad conversation about what Northeast Ohioans value and how our region can become more vibrant (see the Vibrant NEO Engagement Plan).”

The NEOSCC is an NGO (non-government organization) that can only function using our tax dollars. Virtually no input from any elected officials except those serving on the Board themselves – like Holly Brinda, Dr. Roy Church, Lorain County Community College, Shara Davis – Lorain County Community College, Mike Challender and Ronald Romancak – of Lorain County to name a few.

“Building on the original 23 member organizations, the NEOSCC Board has added 10 additional members for a total of 33 organizations. These members have committed over $2.3 million of in-kind services as part of the required match for the grant.” Among those are the City of Elyria, Lorain Community College and Lorain Growth Partnership.

The VibrantNEO process uses public workshops to look at the future of our Northeast Ohio. What will it look like in 2040 if we keep doing what we’re doing? What are the potential outcomes if we do things differently? To answer these questions, we need to understand our values and priorities.

This first round of VibrantNEO public workshops revolves around a scenario called “Business as Usual.” It outlines what Northeast Ohio’s future will look like if we keep doing what we are currently doing. We need your help to define what we value and what’s most important to this region as we start to create a vision for Northeast Ohio’s future.
