There is breaking news regarding the Pamela Geller event scheduled for May 13th.
Rabbi Kaplan of Chabad @ Flamingo has been pressured by the York Regional Police to rescind his offer to host this important event at his Shul. Anyone who values free speech should be outraged by this intimidation tactic and should contact York Region’s Police Chief Eric Jolliffe and express their indignation with the actions taken by the Police.
Please read the article attached in the Toronto Sun and make the effort to let Chief Jolliffe know how you feel.

I am especially offended by Inspector Veerapen’s statement that…..
“Some of the stuff that Ms. Geller speaks about runs contrary to the values of York Regional Police and the work we do in engaging our communities”.
I would challenge Inspector Veerapen to be specific and detail exactly what he means by this statement.
Rest assured, the event will go on as scheduled. It is my understanding that several synagogues have offered their facilities as alternative venues and an announcement will be made tomorrow confirming the new location.
In the meantime, please contact Police Chief Jolliffe by phone or by e-mail and let him know your thoughts. Be polite please – do not lower yourself to the standards of those who want to stifle free speech – other than their own (and send me a copy for the record).
