If you’re a first time reader of my column, no, I’m not some leftist liberal who hates America. I love my country, but what I do hate is what’s happened to a once moral, civilized nation.
We all tend to live in ‘our space’ meaning where we live, work and pursue life, liberty and happiness. But, there is an ugliness out in America that is so vile, so obscene, that like my Killing Fields series [1], [2], [3], it literally makes me sick to my soul. Like Killing Fields, this is difficult to write, but Americans need to see how evil is strangling this country and becoming ‘common’ as a cold. Things so foul, so despicable, we simply cannot understand how it came to be. For us, it’s unthinkable, but the number of ‘incidents’ continues to grow. The carnage left behind is overwhelming for the victims, their families and our society.
The American people need to see what they don’t see in their ‘space’ because the only way to stop it has to come from the we the people and future generations. Let me give you a small sample of what’s happening in America:

After reading this article, I can see how Americans should hold themselves to higher standards, but I disagree about isolating America itself for bad things happening within herself.
This is not a “national” problem, but it is a “human” problem.
Worse things than this happen world-wide, and are even excepted as normal.
So to condemn America where such things are still considered “abnormal”, and not other cultures that accept such things as normal, isn’t fair at all.
Just saying.
Three hundred + million on this part of the earth, and a few examples of wrong doing, morally repugnant, well that a very low number, and of course, its unacceptable no doubt, it is a sign of the mental illness some live under and are not treated, or gone lose from the asylum where they should have been long ago placed for the safety of the society.
I don’t and wont condemn the entire for a few, it simply is not a fair comparison to say the least. Problem seem more astute these days then the time of ages, but, the fact of the matter is these days, its widely available for publication, instantly, like no other time in our history, so I can see how and why it is brought to our attention as if its something new, its not. Its always been there just below the radar, yet unnoticed because of the close knit communities some of us live in, its not that way all around but there used to be a day when shame was brought to bear onto a family for what a person of that unit did, it became local only, and never left the area because of the shame factor.
I see the authors point, but to pin it on the Nation as a whole is a bit near sided, it is not normal the things the links provided, yeah, it happens but not to the degree nor is it as wide spread as the author suggest. Another fear porn article imho.
