New Management Advises President They Are Closing Harry’s Roach Motel

After staking out what some have deemed to be a defiant position at his Wednesday press conference, Barry will be meeting with Congressional leaders later today, including presumptive Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, (R-Kentucky) and the Speaker of the House, John Boehner.

Also in attendance will be the current inn-keeper of the Senate Roach Motel, Harry Reid.

Harry is appearing today under protest, as Big Guy had assured him repeatedly that “if you like your Senate Majority Leadership, you can keep your Senate Majority Leadership.”

So we don’t expect a lot of cooperation there. Ditto John Boehner, who’s already gone on record dissing BHO’s assertion that he’s going to pursue executive action on immigration before the end of the year if need be – in that low key, totally non-defiant way he has:

“I’m warning you amigos: you’ve got 6 weeks to pass immigration, after that my pen goes it alone.”

The Speaker responded:

Boehner said the issue has become a “political football.” Obama is said to be looking at suspending deportations for millions. To the president, Boehner said: “When you play with matches, then you take the risk of burning yourself, and he’s going to burn himself if he continues to go down this path.”

Butt not everything is looking so grim: Barry has indicated a willingness to meet with Mitch McConnell on his own turf: offering to hit the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with him. That’s good because everyone knows you catch more flies with sour mash than you do with sour grapes. So I say, let’s hit it!

Otherwise, you know how those angry Teahadists can get;

they’ll start making all sorts of unreasonable demands like “secure the border, end illegal immigration, and deport all illegal felons.”

So have a shot or two of good old fashioned American bourbon Big Guy and chill awhile. Put your matches down, take your feet off the desk and step away from the pen. Perhaps President Obama could even benefit by taking his own good counsel (from a podcast in 2006 discussing the 2006 midterm results):
