UC San Diego: Sanctuary Campus?

Demands are the order of the day if you are a college student these days. It seems everyone has a grievance. Everyone is a victim. Everyone needs a safe space. In the case of UC San Diego, students are demanding that illegal aliens have a safe space when they are on the campus-safe from immigration authorities.

What is it in this generation of youngsters that makes them think they can walk onto a college campus and make demands of college administrators? You want to know the answer? Their parents’ generation, my generation, was doing the same thing in the 1960s. Many of those people are not just parents now but college administrators. They are literally hiding under their desks, giving serious consideration to the students’ outrageous demands (or pretending to), and caving into many of them. The result is a generation of spoiled cupcakes afraid of micro-aggressions and seeking safe spaces from conservative ideas, Western civilization, males, heteros, and “privileged white people”
And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the role of the humanities and social science professors, radical, leftist misfits who are determined to indoctrinate their students. They are wildly succeeding, I might add.
So now the chancellor of UCSD, whoever he or she or it is, must now convene a study group to study the demands, meet with the concerned students, and try to find a peaceful resolution to all this……
instead of running the university.
