Colorado candidates for U.S. Senate

Ballots have arrived in the mail for Republicans to decide whom to support in the race to replace Democrat U.S. Senator Michael Bennet. Since I know almost nothing about any of them, it is time to write about them, don’t ya think? The primary election is June 28.

A guy named Jon Keyser petitioned his way onto the ballot, and some of the signatures on his petition were fraudulent.

A guy named Darryl Glenn gave a speech at the state GOP convention, and won by far the most votes. However, The Denver Post scolded Glenn for attacking Keyser’s military record in a “reckless and amateurish” way. Keyser had been

Keyser had been a special operations soldier who hunted down extremists in Iraq.

…As documents supplied to Denver Post reporter John Frank indicate, Keyser’s Bronze Medal citation supports his claim of on-the-ground combat “in pursuit of Al Qaeda and other high-value targets.”

And yet based on mere rumor, Glenn asked Keyser at a debate if he’d received his Bronze Star “for the work you have done on a software program” as opposed to actual combat.

According to Wikipedia, Keyser

participated in 31 direct action and counter-terrorism missions, resulting in the capture or elimination of 107 high-value enemy individuals.

After meeting with all major Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate, and watching forums and debates, The Colorado Springs Gazette’s editorial board determined that Robert Blaha was the best candidate.

Jack Graham, a former quarterback for the Colorado State Rams,

was a registered Democrat until about a year before he chose to run as a pro-choice Republican.

How about our current Senator Michael Bennet. He says he is most proud of

being a member of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight,” which helped write a comprehensive immigration reform bill.

He supported Obama’s Iran nuclear arms deal, a move multiple candidates running against him say is the reason they entered the race to oust Bennet from office.
