Bloody Saturday in Los Angeles

In Los Angeles, after a mass shooting, three are dead, and 12 have been wounded.  The shooting occurred at West Adams restaurant when three men left the restaurant after a disagreement with members of another group, and then returned with firearms and opened fire.  50 people were in the restaurant at the time of the shooting.  After the shooting commenced, it continued outside, and in the driveway of the restaurant, which is located in a converted house.

Police indicate there are multiple people with gunshot wounds.  Two “persons of interest” — a man and a women — are in custody.

The restaurant is a popular Jamaican eatery.

A witness stated she heard roughly 20 gunshots.  After the volley of shots people scattered, screaming, many jumping into their cars and speeding off.

On Constitution Radio Saturday afternoon, Larry Elder commented that he noticed in the Los Angeles Times story about the incident there was no mention of the race of the shooters, which likely means, according to Elder, that the shooters were black or brown.

“Don’t you think it would be helpful if you gave the description of the suspects?  No description whatsoever, no mention of race, which almost always means it’s either black or brown people because the newspapers lean over backwards to avoid the appearance that they are picking on anybody.  If it was a white cop that had shot people, believe me, we’d know the race of the dead people and we’d know the race of the cop.  Another thing I found interesting is that they quote Mayor Garcetti, the L.A. Mayor, as saying it is yet another example of easy accessibility of firearms. . . the guns just jumped up and shot people.  Individuals didn’t shoot people, it was easy access to firearms.  And this is the intersection of the welfare state.  People like Garcetti and his party have long promoted giving people money and therefore you have the phenomenon of women married to the government.”

      I think it is more likely just an innocent oversight by the media.
      Lets be realistic, it would be normal for them to assume we already know the race of those involved and simply reporting it would be a bit redundant.
