Ruh-roh! Was Val Swanson using the Harris County email system for her personal political ambitions?

Community sources associated with the HD-150 race tell BJP that Texas State Representative candidate Val Swanson is “too busy” to debate issues important to residents of the District and know we know why. Not only would she have to answer questions related to the reprimand from her former boss Mike Sullivan on a potential ethics breach at the Tax Office —she’d be in a position to explain if she used the Harris County email system for her personal political gain while she was employed with the Tax Office.

A new batch of emails obtained by BJP is raising fresh questions about whether Swanson used the Harris County email system for political gain, in violation of Harris County personnel regulations governing electronic media policies.

A recently released four-page email dated Monday July 20^th, 2015 containing a list of the upcoming Republican club meetings was forwarded at 2:40 p.m. to a private email account.

The club meetings were scheduled to take place the week of July 20-25, 2015; one event of note was a Cherry Tree Republicans meeting hosting the Consul General of Israel for the Southwest United States.

That’s a good way to be educated on matters of foreign affairs before you launch your campaign for Texas State Representative!

The other soiree was a Texas Tea Party Republican Women reception to meet Ms. Heidi Cruz at the private home of a prominent Spring, Texas resident.

THAT would be a good place to meet potential campaign donors, n’cest pas?

Does Hillary Clinton Val Swanson believe the rules are only for the little people? Does she have the courage to answer these and other questions for inquiring residents of HD-150?

Cos it sure seems that this potential violation of Harris County personnel regulations —when coupled with the reprimand from Sullivan—could call into question her ability to abide by the ethical standards applicable to officers as noted in the Texas House Rules Book.
