The establishment media is trying to portray this Trump victory as a result of under-educated blue-collar voters acting against their own best interest. It is things like that that are causing the establishment media to fail. People don’t trust them any more. They are corrupt and not afraid to show it. People like you and me will not pay money for their product any longer.
There will be widespread wailing and gnashing of teeth among them.
My county GOP head said something interesting. He said the pollsters have been carefully polling only likely voters – those who have voted in each of the last four elections. They did not poll people who voted in less than that. A person who voted in two of the last four was not even called. Those people vote when there is a tax levy that they oppose. Regular politics don’t send them to the polls. This time Trump’s populist message, combined with Clinton’s corruption negatives got them to vote. That could explain how the polls got it wrong.
The results amounted to a repudiation, not only of Mrs. Clinton, but of President Obama, whose legacy is suddenly imperiled. And it was a decisive demonstration of power by a largely overlooked coalition of mostly blue-collar white and working-class voters who felt that the promise of the United States had slipped their grasp amid decades of globalization and multiculturalism.”
Boy, they got that right.
