Afghanistan Muslims Behead Woman for Visiting City Alone

A 30-year-old woman was beheaded in a province of Afghanistan, Sar-e-Pul, by armed men who were punishing her for traveling to the city alone, without her husband, in violation of Islamic law.

As Jihad Watch noted: Islamic law states, “A woman may not leave the city without her husband or a member of her unmarriageable kin accompanying her, unless the journey is obligatory, like the hajj. It is unlawful for her to travel otherwise, and unlawful for her husband to allow her to.”

The governor of the province, said through his spokesman Zabiullah Amani that the beheading did occur, and it went forward in the small village of Latti.

From the Nation in Pakistan:

“Amani said that the women was beheaded because she visited the city alone without her husband. Amani said that the victim’s husband is in Iran and they don’t have children.”

The Taliban denied involvement, however.
