Be Oppressed In Style: “Fashion Of Islam” Coming to U.S. Art Exhibit

In an effort to make Sharia law fashionable, Max Hollein the director of the de Young Museum has scheduled an extravagantly oppressive art show for 2018 called “The Fashion of Islam”.

The burqa and hijab are representative of everything the West in not: oppressive and misogynistic. The burqa and hijab allow women to oppose assimilation into Western society while forcing Westerners to accept Sharia disguised as diversity and inclusivity.

“There are probably people who don’t even think there is fashion in Islam,” Hollein said. “But if you look at Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Beirut, the fashion is really vibrant, and it can speak to larger political and social developments, cultural understanding and misunderstandings.”

The fact that so much time and energy is being put into an Islamic fashion show for women is quite ironic, given the fact that women in Muslim countries don’t have the freedom to dress as they please. In Saudi Arabia, the dress code for women is governed by a strict interpretation of Sharia law. Women are not allowed to wear clothing and makeup that shows their beauty, and if they do, they are punished by their male family members and the religious police.

In fact, women are not even allowed to try on clothing in a dressing room in Saudi Arabia because the idea of a woman undressing behind a door is viewed as un-modest in Saudi Arabia. Hopefully Hollein has a variety of complicit, submissive, and silent mannequins waiting to be cloaked in  burqas and hijabs.

Making the Islmo fashion invasion of the Unites States even more egregious, Hollein is hosting the exhibit in San Francisco, a city with a higher percentage of adults who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender than any other city in the country, according to a survey. Not only is the exhibit an invasion on female equality, but also an invasion on a city that is viewed as a safe haven for gays, another group that is oppressed and threatened by Islam, but has actually enhanced the world of fashion.

Hollein is clearly out of touch with the history of Islam and how it has always negatively impacted women. Struggling with his own cultural misunderstanding, he is using a country with egregious human rights violations towards women as a source of inspiration for female fashion, giving a whole meaning to “IslamoFascism”.
