Catholic Priests Told to Push Global Warming Propaganda

You can’t destroy Christianity by force; it has been tried. However, you might be able to destroy it through subversion, leaving the churches in place but hollowing out the content and replacing it with nonsense or trendy idiocy until there isn’t any point anymore and the congregation wanders off. For example:

The Catholic Church is intimately concerned about climate change. The Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences is the world’s oldest, longest running scientific mission. That body, which advises the pope on matters of science, has concluded that global climate change is real and is caused, at least in significant part, by human activity.

This is important to the Church because creation care is part of our mission. We are called to be stewards of creation. It’s also important because climate change can exacerbate the ills of poverty. Poor people in much of the world are the most vulnerable to changes.

Leftist politics is always justified with reference to the sanctity of the poor.

Another consistent theme in leftist politics is the demonization of mankind’s Last Best Hope, the USA:

In the late 1970s, when the issue threatened the financial interests of the fossil fuel industry, the political lobbies, chiefly in the United States, financed a massive political disinformation campaign to manufacture the illusion of dissent within the scientific community.

We are to believe there is only an “illusion of dissent.” The many principled scientists who have risked giving up a ride on the government grant money gravy train to speak out in favor of reality are just a figment of your imagination.

Funny they should mention the 1970s. This was the supposed consensus in those days:

But here is what we are supposed to believe now:

The established community of experts agree with frightful consensus that the planet is warming because of human activity.

This “frightful consensus” may actually constitute a minority view. A peer-reviewed report in Organizational Studies found that most geoscientists and engineers believe that global warming has natural causes and is not a serious problem.

But on the Left, the alleged warming is alleged to be terrible. It can only be rectified by reducing our standard of living, and forcing us to turn over our wealth and freedom to centralized leftist government.

The order has come down to Catholic priests to promote this tyrannical, delusion-based ideology:

Now updated guidelines for the formation of clergy … suggest that in the future, priests will also have a good grasp of the global climate change problem and will share this with their congregation.

Despite protestations that “The Church is not interested in promoting a political agenda,” the topic of global warming has far more to do with politics than it does with science — neither of which is within the purview of religion.
