One of the truly frustrating things about election seasons are the celebrities who come out from under the nearest rock, have no idea how “regular people” live, and tell us how to vote. Actor Mark Wahlberg agrees that celebrities need to stay out of politics, “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills.” A look at the contracts of some of the Trump supporters, prove their lifestyle is so different than ours, they can’t understand how the average American lives.
The movie star from the Boston area, was being interviewed about his upcoming movie “Patriots Day,” began to talk about the crowds of celebrities who ran to any camera switch to the “on” position so they could denounce Donald Trump before and after election day.
“You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway,” he continued. “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family. Me, I’m very aware of the real world. I come from the real world and I exist in the real world. And although I can navigate Hollywood and I love the business and the opportunities it’s afforded me, I also understand what it’s like not to have all that.”
Wahlberg these celebrities are so far into the bubble that they have no idea (or interest in how we live). Just look at what some of these celebrities put in their contracts, how could they understand our problems.
Not many regular folks go to work insisting that the office toilet be filled with rose petals. Mark Wahlberg spoke the truth, celebrities need to get out of the endorsing politician business. They have no idea about the needs or wants of the average American. Perhaps that’s why their endorsements do not work.
