Old Bridge Man Charged In Aberdeen Shooting

Tenneyson D. Fairclough, 37, of Old Bridge, was arrested by Aberdeen Township Police on December 24 and charged with shooting a Somerset County man on December 23 outside the Masonic Lodge in the Township, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced.

Aberdeen Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Masonic Lodge at 9:53 p.m. on Thursday night.  Upon their arrival, officers did not find a victim. A local hospital later notified police that a male gunshot victim was being treated at their facility.  The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

The investigation revealed that Fairclough had approached a car occupied by the male victim as well as a female known to both men and began firing a handgun striking the male.  Both victims fled and the male victim went to the hospital for medical attention, while Fairclough pursued the female victim, attempting to shoot at her again.  The female victim  escaped uninjured, and Fairclough fled the area.

Fairclough was charged with two counts of first degree Attempted Murder, second degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and second degree Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon. His bail was set at $1.5 million with no 10% option.  He is in custody at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

Fairclough was arrested at least twice previously in 2016, according to a public records search.  He was arrested in January for possession of 26 folds of heroin and again in September for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  In 2011, he was arrested in Essex County on drug charges.
