Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov shot dead by POLICE OFFICER: “Allah Akbar” ‘We made an oath to die in martyrdom’

For well over a decade I warned here on this website how dangerous would-be caliph President (then Prime Minister) Recip Erodgan was/is. Erdogan is a devout Muslim hellbent on imposing Islamic rule on Turkey and the world. He purged the era of Ataturk and a secular Turkey. Did anyone believe this was a static situation? That it would not escalate into jihad war?

Erdogan purged all of the ranks of government of his perceived enemies. It was a police officer that shot the Russian ambassador. It has Erdogan’s fingerprints all over it.

Erdogan has poked the Russian bear.

“We qualify what happened as a terrorist act,” a spokesman for the Russian foreign ministry has said.

As soon as I heard the initial reports that the Russian ambassador was shot,, my first question was what did Erdogan know? Andrey Karlov was shot by a police officer so we now we know.

In reporting the event, CNN will not repeat the jihad assassin’s first two words, “Allah Akbar.”

Russia’s ambassador to Ankara has been killed in a gun attack while visiting an art exhibition opening in the Turkish capital, television reports said.

Russia’s state news agency said Andrey Karlov had died at the scene of gunshot wounds.

Earlier it was reported Mr Karlov had been hospitalised and several other people wounded, NTV and CNN-Turk televisions said.

The attacker has been ‘neutralised,’ according to Turkish media.

The attack came after days of protests in Turkey over Russia’s role in Syria, although Moscow and Ankara are now working closely together to evacuate citizens from Aleppo.

Pictures published by the Hurriyet daily showed at least two men in suits lying flat on the ground as another man brandished a gun.

The attack happened at the Cagdas Sanatlar Merkezi, a major art exhibition hall in the Cankaya district of Ankara where most foreign embassies are located including Russia’s mission.

Protesters in Turkey have held Russia responsible for human rights violations in Aleppo.

US State Dept. condemns attack

State Department spokesman John Kirby said: “We condemn this act of violence, whatever its source. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”

Relations between Russia and Turkey have been tense in the past, but thawed recently due to their co-operation in the Syrian conflict.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish leader, has previously been accused of turning a blind eye to  bomb and shell attacks on Syrian civilians carried out by the Russian military.

‘This was a terrorist act’ – Russian authorities

“We qualify what happened as a terrorist act,” a spokesman for the Russian foreign ministry has said.

“The murderers will be punished…today this issue will be raised at the UN Security Council. Terrorism will not win out.

“Today in Ankara as a result of an attack the Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov received wounds that he died from,” they added.

Gunman’s words: ‘We made an oath to die in martyrdom’

According to Sky News, the attacker shouted: “We made an oath to die in martyrdom…it is revenge for Syria and Aleppo.”

He is believed to have added: “Until they are safe, you will not taste safety.

“Get back, only death will take me from here.”

It is understood the man was speaking in Arabic.
