A BOMB has exploded in Izmir, Turkey, a holiday hotspot favourite with Britons, leaving at least two dead and 10 wounded.

A  bomb has ripped through the coastal town of Izmir, Turkey, close to the local courthouse.

Hospital staff claim at least 10 people have been injured in the blast which has left two people dead.

Izmir municipality secretary general Bugra Gokce confirmed the explosion was caused by a car bomb.

Hospital staff say at least 10 people are injured
They are said to be searching for a third.

Eyewitnesses claim to be hearing gunshots around the city as police hunt the attacker on the run.

Emergency services quickly swarmed the scene after the explosion, with local media reporting three blast victims were being stretchered into ambulances.
