Brussels Bombings Were Deliberately Aimed At Americans, Jews

The terror attack at the Zaventem airport in Brussels last March was specifically targeted at Jewish passengers and people traveling to the U.S., according to new revelations.

An investigation into the bombings at the airport — which killed 16 people — has found that a check-in counter for American passengers was one of the targets, anonymous sources told AFP.

“We know they wanted to target Americans,” a source told AFP. “It’s clear they had quite specific targets.”

The bombings at the airport and a downtown subway station killed a combined 32 people and wounded hundreds. Victims came from at least 40 countries and four Americans were among the deceased.

“Even early on (in the investigation) there were indications that they targeted U.S., Russian and Israeli check-in counters,” an American official told AFP. “That understanding has held up with later investigations.”

Sources further revealed CCTV footage caught one of the bombers following a Hasidic Jew before detonating his bomb.

“The attacker seemed to rush towards two Orthodox Jews,” one of the sources said. “He really, clearly wanted to kill a Jew.”

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. Five suspects have been identified. Three of them were killed and two are in custody. The attackers were linked to the same cell that carried out the Nov. 13, 2015 attack in Paris, which killed 130 people.
