The Coronation of a New King

Here I am within mere moments of watching PRESIDENT TRUMP be sworn in. Four years ago when Donald Trump put his big toe in the water and made presidential noises, it seemed like a pipe dream, something on par with me stating that I am going to travel to the moon. So much so, that the statement from Donald Trump came and went without a serious thought from anyone.

Then, way back when in June of 2015, Donald Trump made the same noises and this time, threw his hat in the ring for real. And again, all the same people made the same laughs, and again thought that Trump would do as he did four (4) years prior, simply withdraw and go away.

The next 18 months were a whirlwind. Hell, a tornado…on a roller coaster…during an earthquake… and a tsunami…while drinking heavily and having hallucinations. What was real, what wasn’t? Did it really happen? Was it a dream? It was all so surreal. Well, what seems like a dream, is now reality. It happened…and We The People spoke loudly, and made it so.

Looking back, it all seemed surreal. Were we really that close to ultimate destruction with the election going to Hillary? Did we dodge a bullet or what? But that ride is over, and we have landed back on terra firma, it’s a bright and sunny day, and we are thinking very clearly once again. And though a chapter in the history books of the 2016 election has ended, we are at the next one, yet to be written. The chapter that will be titled, “The Trump Presidency”. And I have so many questions…so many expectations. We all do.

First and foremost, I will state that I was a Trump guy from the get go. I was not a Cruz guy who converted. I was for a Trump presidency for those very brief moments in 2012, and rooted for him from the very first moment he made his bid back in June 2015. Though I may not know President Trump personally, I have had the opportunity to meet him. And though he would never remember meeting me, I certainly do remember meeting him. Also, I know people who know him. I live only a few miles from his home in Mar-a-Lago.

I attended the police academy with one of his former body guards and became very good friends with him. He has shared several stories with me about Mr. Trump, and from these stories and my experiences; I have come to the conclusion that Mr. Trump will be a terrific president. He is demanding of those that work for him, but always fair. He believes in holding a person to their promises, and expects nothing less from others that he does not expect from himself. Mr. Trump does not ask of others that he does not also ask of himself. He expects the best from everyone and gives the best in everything he does himself. That is the opinion I have formed of President Trump.

And just look at President Trump when he spoke at any one of his hundreds of rallies. He spoke to me. He spoke to all of us. He said words that did not sound like political speak. He answered real questions with actual answers. He took a position on certain subjects and stuck with that position. And boy did Donald Trump rally. He was in almost every city in every state, doing sometimes two rallies a day in completely different states. You have to admit one thing. Donald Trump knows how to campaign. When the man puts his mind to something, he has no problem putting in the hard work he knows it will take to get that something done. Personally, I have no idea where he got the energy. His actions during his campaign alone were amazing.

And now, we have a President Trump ready to walk into the oval office and bang his ring on the desk. And for me at least, I am excited to see what he does. I am hoping to see 8 years of Obama erased in mere moments. Executive fiat destroyed by executive fiat. President Trump has taken obama’s pen and phone from him, and he is going to use those same items to dismantle the legacy of the boy king. That is what happens when you take short cuts. As the bible tells us of the story of the man who built his house upon sand, it was washed away. And that was Obama; taking the easy way; never reaching across the aisle. After all, he was PRESIDENT OBAMA…he does as he pleases. He needs nothing from those beneath him. And so, he built his legacy on a weak foundation. And when tested, it will fall, as we all we see very soon.

And what I cannot wait for, for the first time since Obama appeared out of thin air, as it seemed, is to see Obama open his mouth and no one listen. Like a tree falling in the forest with nobody around to see it. If Obama says something and the media is not there to report it…was it important? I look forward to a world where Obama is no one; a man who will grow old and bitter. No more posses of people following him. No one caring what he has to say. No one kissing his ass daily; just him and mooch…alone with nothing but each other.

For someone as narcissistic as Obama, this is purgatory. For someone like obama to no longer be “The One”, is going to eat at him, destroy him, drive him mad. At least I hope it does. And as for mooch, we finally get rid of her and for the first time in the last eight (8) years of my adult life, I will be proud of my first lady. A first lady with real class. A first lady who knows how to dress and act like a lady. Not a moose wearing a burlap sack.

Now, this doesn’t mean I am letting my guard day. For now, I am simply reveling in our victory. I will be there ready to criticize if needed. To make sure that if President Trump goes back on his promises, I will be there, with Fred and everyone else, reminding him who it was that put him where he is. Of course, we are all in the honeymoon phase of our new president, and nothing bad is going to ever happen…right? But again, that is for another argument for another day.

For now, the wife and I have taken the day off, and are going to sit back and watch the dethroning of what will one day be labeled as the worst president in American history, and proudly watch America’s version of a coronation, the ascendancy of our new president. President Donald J. Trump. I like the sound of that.
