Ohio Governor John Kasich (R) just can’t get a break. At least from Donald Trump.

First Kasich drops out of the 2016 presidential race, not only because Trump was beating him badly, but also because the taxpayers of Ohio were getting sick of him running around the country for his own goals, and using taxpayer money for his security detail which ran in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. This writer hopes he got the message Ohioans were tired of him “not being their governor” because he was never in Columbus but presumably still drawing a paycheck.

Kasich had the unmitigated gall not to attend the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, in his home state, because of his jealousy and dislike of Trump. He then reneged on his promise to support the Republican nominee, no matter who he or she was.  Now he is getting a much deserved payback from Mr. Trump.

Kasich and his machine, led mostly by Ohio Republican Chairman Matt Borges, found themselves in deep doo-doo when it was discovered by the grass roots in Ohio, along with the Trump campaign, they were deliberately sabotaging Trump’s campaign efforts. Ohio is and always has been a major swing state in presidential elections.

Conservative Ohioans and Trump’s campaign had had enough.  So last August, Trump’s Ohio state chief Bob Paduchik, took the unprecedented step of taking Ohio Republican Victory Centers from Borges and the ORP and turning them over to the Trump campaign.

Zinger number 2.

Ohio grass roots activist Tom Zawistowski, president of We the People Convention pointed out:

It was clear that the ORP was not supporting Trump in the Victory Centers up to this point, even though they were taking RNC money that was raised by Trump to fund the Victory Centers. Then we started hearing about ORP Central Committee members in Toledo actually collecting signatures to get Libertarian Gary Johnson on the Ballot in Ohio to further damage Trumps chances of winning Ohio. This is nothing but another example of the Kasich machine betraying the will of the people for Kasich’s selfish interest to run again in 2020. Kasich is nothing but an unprincipled sore loser. We applaud the RNC for stepping in and showing Kasich and Borges the door for their total betrayal of the Republican Party and Republican voters in Ohio.

As the statewide election of Ohio’s Republican Chairman, who at the time was Matt Borges, loomed, Trump again had a third chance to trounce Kasich. The ORP chairmanship is elected by Ohio’s 66 Republican Central Committee members. Most until this time were hand picked by Kasich and remained in his pocket, including Borges. Until the election last Friday.

Stark county vice chair Jane Timken came forward to run against Borges.  Although well versed in Ohio politics, Ms. Timken is the opposite of Mr. Borges. Loyal to her party and to the will of Ohions, Central Committee members with pressure put on them by Trump’s people, saw them start to come around to Timken’s side.

After a hotly contested election last Friday, with the initial vote at 33-32 (34 needed to win) and some back-door conferences, it was agreed by a final vote Ms. Timken would be the new ORP chair and Borges would be given the ceremonial post of Chairman Emeritus.

Zawistowski had this to say after the election:

This is a HUGE victory for those of us in Ohio who voted for Donald Trump in November and who are sick and tired of crony and corrupt politics. Jane Timken promises to end the mafia like tactics of Kasich and Borges and restore the integrity of the Ohio Republican Party by following it’s own by-laws, holding fair elections, using the Republican National Party Platform as measuring stick for anyone wanting to run as a Republican.

Myself, I would have used the word “YUGE” instead. 😀

Author’s note: Bob Paduchik has been tapped by Trump as vice chair of the RNC. A reward for extremely hard work, well done.
