A clash between Bannon and Mattis?

Saagar Enjeti reports at The Daily Caller that there is a clash going on between James Mattis and Steve Bannon over who should fill the job of Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, a critical staffing role. Mattis reportedly wants to fill the job with Bush pentagon veteran Mary Beth Long, while the White House wants Trump pentagon transition staffer Mira Ricardel to hold the job.

Enjeti’s source for the story is Foreign Policy magazine, which I believe leans left. So, who knows what the truth is?
