Obamacare Inches Closer to Being Repealed

The anti-Trump press is trying to make the case that just because the repeal and replacement of Obamacare may take a bit longer than expected, President Donald Trump is breaking his campaign promise to rid the country of the disastrous healthcare law upon taking office.

Trump recently stated that it could take until 2018 to fully dismantle Obamacare.

For the rest of the ignorant and misinformed press and public, know that this law has been entrenched since 2010. Gutting of the entire law will not happen overnight.

Democrats have been fighting Republicans tooth-and-nail to preserve President Obama’s legacy healthcare legislation and have even gone on record in sounding as if they want to help “repair” the law.

Many Democrats are saying “the law isn’t perfect” and that instead of replacing it, fixes needed to be made to it.

Its funny how a few years and a new administration changes the minds of those who back in 2010, said that Obamacare was written exactly the way it should have been.

Yeah right.

In a 52-17 Senate vote to confirm Rep. Tom Price (R) to head the Department of Health & Human Services, Democrats showed their true colors on the healthcare law.

They opposed Price because the congressman from Georgia echoed President Trump in vowing. to repeal & replace the law.

Now that Price is in as head of the HHS, Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) says that the Republican-led Congress needs to move quickly on the campaign promise of repealing & and replacing Obamacare.

“Republicans would not have the House, Senate and probably not the White House but for our promises to free the people from the burdens of Obamacare…We’ve got to deliver on that.”

But while the House of Representatives moves at the beat of a different drum the their colleagues over in the Senate, DeSantis and many others believe any and all delays would occur over on the senate side.

“If it happens in March, that’ll be fine,…This insurance year is baked in the cake. There’s nothing you’re going to be able to do.”

“As long as we get to it within the first 100 days (of Donald Trump‘s Presidency), I think we’ll be in good shape.”-WOKV

Believe it or not, there are some things written in the law that Republican lawmakers have said will be included in any new healthcare legislation.

Considering that I am a walking orthopedic case (15 ortho surgeries and counting) I am all for keeping the pre-existing condition clause.
