The More Things Change, the More Islam Stays the Same

In the Islamic world, not much has changed in the past 1,400 years:

Islamic State militant Amar Hussein says he reads the Koran all day in his tiny jail cell to become a better person. He also says he raped more than 200 women from Iraqi minorities, and shows few regrets.

Why should he have any regrets? Muslims believe that Mohammad was the ideal human being. He recruited thugs for the cutthroat cult that eventually grew into Islam by attacking first caravans, then villages, then whole cities, and offering anyone who took part a share of the booty. This booty prominently included any females who could be captured as sex slaves, and who would then spend the rest of their lives being raped.

Hussein said his emirs, or local Islamic State commanders, gave him and others a green light to rape as many Yazidi and other women as they wanted.

“Young men need this,” Hussein told Reuters in an interview after a Kurdish counter-terrorism agent removed a black hood from his head. “This is normal.”

He’s right; under fundamentalist Islam, it is perfectly normal.

So far as I can tell, most American feminists have no problem with this. It doesn’t engender outrage, like Mitt Romney’s binder full of women.

Amaar Hussein says he’s killed about 500 people for the Islamic State.

On a tip from Bodhisattva.
