Christie Nominates Three Monmouth County Attorneys To The Superior Court

Governor Chris Christie today nominated three Monmouth County attorneys to become Superior Court Judges, according to an announcement from his office.

First Assistant Prosecutor Marc LeMieux, of Belmar, Lourdes Lucas of Fair Haven and Daniel L. Weiss of Asbury Park will take the bench if confirmed by the State Senate.

LeMieux has been second in command of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office since January of 2014. He has prosecuted high profile cases, including former Neptune Township Police Sergeant Phillip Seidle’s murder of his ex-wife, Tamara Wilson-Seidle, on the streets of Asbury Park in 2015.

Given his role in the Prosecutor’s Office, LeMieux might not serve in Freehold.  When former Monmouth County Prosecutor Peter Warshaw became a judge in 2012, he was assigned to the Mercer County Vicinage in Trenton where he now presides over the criminal division.

Lucas is a litigation and transactional attorney with the Office of Peter C. Lucas in Ocean Township.  A graduate of Syracuse College of Law, Lucas has specialized in labor and commercial law.  She was an Assistant District Attorney in New York County prior to entering private practice.

Weiss is an immigration attorney with the Freehold firm of Weiss, Hartigan and King English.

In addition to the Superior Court nominees named today, Christie nominated  Jonathan A. Orsen of Manalapan to be a Tax Court Judge.
