Forward writer: “I’m A Zionist And A Feminist. I Stand With Linda Sarsour.” #judenrat

It’s important to understand that this sniveling drivel  ran in the most anti-Jewish ‘Jewish’ newspaper outside of Haaretz. If you read the “Jewish” Forward, you are an anti-Jew or an antisemite.. The paper of the judenrat, the Forward has long engaged in vicious anti-Israel, anti-Jewish rhetoric. I, of course, am a favorite target, being a proud, vocal and unapologetic Jewess.

But this is even more ridiculous than the Forward usually is. Sarsour has said: “It just doesn’t make any sense for someone to say, ‘Is there room for people who support the state of Israel and do not criticize it in the movement?’ There can’t be in feminism. You either stand up for the rights of all women, including Palestinians, or none. There’s just no way around it.”

Remember: the woman saying this is an open supporter of sharia. She claims that “Palestinian” women are being oppressed by Israel, but doesn’t have a word to say about the genuine oppression that Muslim women suffer because of sharia, which sanctions wife-beating, allows for polygamy, and opens the door to female genital mutilation and honor killing. That’s oppression. But Sarsour, as the new leader of the feminist movement, is never going to say a word about that.

And now Brad Lander in the Forward says he is a Zionist and a feminist and stands with Sarsour. He doesn’t get it: Sarsour doesn’t want his support. She says there is no room in the feminist movement for supporters of Israel. If Sarsour were honest, she would disavow and denounce Lander and the Forward. But she is, above all, opportunistic.

On February 21, the cemetery in St. Louis where several members of my family are buried was desecrated by cowardly, anti-Semitic vandals. Minutes after I posted about it on social media, I got a text from Linda Sarsour expressing sympathy and offering to help. One day later, she had organized thousands of Muslims across the United States to raise over $80,000.

This was not a surprise to me. Linda has stood with the Jewish community against anti-Semitic hate crimes many times. She has visited our synagogue (Congregation Kolot Chayeinu, in Brooklyn) and worked closely with my rabbi, with fellow congregants, with Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, and with many other Jews. Including Zionists, like me.

Lander doesn’t realize how he and other leftist Jews are being played by this cynical deceiver. She only supports Jews in order to provide cover for her denunciation of Zionism, trying to make herself appear to be not anti-Semitic. But think about it: if Israel were destroyed, millions of Jews would be massacred. That is what Sarsour is tacitly calling for. She is trying to validate leftist Jews who have already allowed themselves to be twisted by their leftism (and by “Palestinian” propaganda) into opposing Israel. And it’s working.

Sarsour loves dead Jews and she played the media on this one like Nero played his fiddle. She made sure everyone saw her helping raise money for the dead Jews.

Linda opposes anti-Semitism as part of her broader work for justice.

Where? When? A cynical public offer to help and a friendship with some leftist Jews is not a denunciation of anti-Semitism.

Through the years that I have served in the City Council, I have had the honor of working closely with her in many campaigns. We worked together to pass the Community Safety Act — to reduce discriminatory stop-and-frisk, prohibit bias-based profiling or surveillance and create an Inspector General for the NYPD. She helped create a truly diverse coalition of African-Americans, Latinos, Muslims, Christians and Jews. We worked together in the effort to make Eid days into NYC public school holidays, among other efforts.

So Lander praises her for reducing law enforcement efforts to stop jihad activity (“prohibit bias-based profiling or surveillance”) and for getting Muslims special consideration in NYC (making Eid days into school holidays) that their numbers don’t justify (why not Hindu and Buddhist holidays)? Not an impressive record: he is praising her for her Islamic supremacism.

…I do not agree with Linda on every issue. We both have strong, and divergent, views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I oppose the “Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions” (BDS) movement. She supports it. This does not make me an Islamophobe. And it does not make Linda an anti-Semite. (Indeed, while I disagree with them as well, there are active members of my synagogue who support BDS as well.)

Supporting BDS doesn’t make Sarsour an anti-Semite? Really? BDS is this century’s Nazi movement, only on a worldwide scale. Same tactics, same viciousness, same lies, same thuggery — The Germans employed the same tactics. Preceding Kristallnacht, the Nazis held several days calling for Germans to boycott Jewish-owned businesses. This was the direct antecedent to the BDS movement. This is no different.

As for her doing some good things? Hitler was good to his dog does that make him a good person? In any compromise between food and poison, death always wins.

Most recently, I disagreed with the headline of an interview with her in The Nation magazine, “Can You Be a Zionist Feminist? Linda Sarsour Says No”. I consider myself both a Zionist and a feminist. So what do you think I did? I reached out to let her know, and we had a conversation. In her experience, a Zionist is often someone who opposes the self-determination of her people, and justifies their living for 50 years without equal rights as citizens. To me, a Zionist is someone who believes in the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish, democratic state, at peace with her neighbors. I pray fervently that, someday soon, our self-determination can be mutual.

Notice that Lander doesn’t say that Sarsour retreated even an inch from her reading him out of her movement.

Linda and I have both tweeted intemperate things in moments of anger and passion. I’ve even deleted some things I’ve tweeted. My sense is that her accusers have also done some things they might wish they could take back.

But this much is very clear: Linda is not an anti-Semite. And she is certainly not a supporter of terrorism.

That is by no means clear. She tweeted in support of Sharia. She never retreated or apologized. She tweeted that she wanted to take Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s vagina away. She deleted the tweet. She never apologized.

Why are leftist Jews like Lander so eager to be fooled?
