Friday Night at the Movies Remembers Roger Moore

Welcome to another Friday night. You made it. The work week is history. All that’s left of it is a paycheck, hopefully.

This is the second Friday Night in a row that has been marked with sadness as we observe the loss of a great acting talent. Tonight we remember the life of Roger Moore, known to us mostly as Bond, James Bond. Of all the actors who played Agent 007 it was Roger Moore who brought the most humor to the role. He was also the Bond with the coolest gadgets and cars. He had an Alligator Submarine. Nobody before or since has had an Alligator Submarine. It was also the Roger Moore version of Bond who did the most outlandishly hokey stunts.

Every Bond Movie was a major event in our family. My parents loved Bond Movies and every time a new movie hit the Theater we had a big outing. We even went to the same Barbeque/Seafood Restaurant each time. It was a big event and quite exciting. I have very fond memories of the Roger Moore era. If it was possible we would be featuring all of the James Bond movies starring Roger Moore here tonight.

Instead we have a very special movie that has been featured here before but is a classic in which our man Roger Moore plays a key role. It is a thoroughly enjoyable movie and one that stands as an adequate offering for our memorial observances here tonight. This is one of my all time favorites.

Tonight I raise my glass to Sir Roger Moore.
