Ken Kurson Resigns As Observer’s Editor-in-Chief

Ken Kurson has resigned as Editor-in-Chief of Observer, according to multiple published reports.

Kurson will be joining Tenco Strategy, a division of Teneco Holdings, a global CEO advisory firm, as a senior managing director.

Described as a close friend of Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor who owned Observer prior Trump’s inauguration, Kurson was publisher since 2013.  During his tenure, Observer dropped “New York” from its title, becoming an online only publication. Kurson merged PolitickerNJ, another Kushner property into Observer.

A former Executive Vice President at Jamestown Associates, Kurson has deep ties within the New Jersey Republican Party. He was the first to report that Senator Joe Kyrillos would not seek reelection this year.  The Guadagno for Governor campaign leaked an internal poll to Kurson showing the Lt. Governor with a commanding lead over her closest GOP opponent.  Burlington County GOP Chairman Bill Layton’s role in the primary challenge to State Senator Sam Thompson next month, was strategically leaked to Kurson.

Kurson was the Chief Operating Officer of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 presidential campaign.  He co-wrote Guiliani’s 2002 autobiography, Leadership.
