Looking Back To The Future Of Geopolitics

Today you’re going to get a crash course in geopolitics and America’s preeminence as a global political & economic leader. If I do my job right, you will see the intervening years from 1991-2013 in a completely different light, after reading this article.

The World Since WWII

To begin, the reader must understand the world following WWII. There emerged from the rubble of WWII, a bi-polar global power structure. We out-spent the USSR and proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that centralized command-and-control economics do not work. A planning committee will never be able to duplicate the actions, or meet the needs, of a market based upon self-interest. The most basic of economic laws is that people respond to incentives.

Also following WWII, the US began to assert it’s global dominance through expansion of all things American. Hegemony is dominance through leadership. In Marxist ideology, cultural hegemony is the domination of a diverse, multi-cultural society by a ruling elite. This is important because America has been using this idea since WWII. An objective look at the global political & social landscape bears this out. We dominate through cultural hegemony, which brings us political control, as well.

We have expanded “The American Way” of governing and living. The American people don’t really care how we go about projecting our authority overseas, so long as it isn’t in their face every day (see Iraq & Afghanistan under Bush/Obama). Our ruling class understands this disinterest and seizes upon it in their efforts to insure the interests of our national survival. The way they go about it is neither legally, nor morally justified, in many cases, but it is absolutely necessary.

America’s Actions In A Uni-Polar World

Following the collapse of the USSR, the United States emerged as the only power of any consequence in the entire world. We control the seas, the economic landscape, and have spread our political influence far & wide. This is evidenced by the fact that we frequently receive lectures in liberty from the former soviet menace. Please, do not mistake this statement for supporting the evil empire. They are no more free than we. Even less so, in most ways.

If you look back at the actions of President Clinton, in giving China ‘most-favored’ nation status & opening NAFTA states to US business, you can begin to see the opening volley of this global geopolitical chess game, in action. By creating an environment whereby American interests are served in utilizing the cheap labor markets of Central America & Eurasia, the United States sets the footing for international dependence upon an American economic engine. We basically tie the world into our economy, by making them dependent upon our purchasing. This provides us with influence we would never have had, otherwise. (It also requires the American people to continue to buy sub-par products, in perpetuity.)

If America is to maintain it’s status as the world’s only superpower, we must continue to strengthen dependence upon our dollar and our economy. Brazil, Russia, India, China, & South Africa have formed an economic partnership with the explicit purpose of undermining US global dominance. Combine this union with direct (bi-lateral & peaceful, if coercive) trade agreements and you have the makings of a challenger. The many states in the middle east, with whom we have engaged violence, all serve the interest of the United States, even as China begins to project it’s political and economic muscle throughout the middle east region, and east.

The soviets recognized the need for control of portions of the south (above map) and east. China & Russian, while certainly not friends, act in their own best interests by cooperating. The Russians have made power plays in their control of natural gas and oil markets for the west (eurasian) region, while China becomes more assertive militarily and economically through bilateral trade and currency agreements. As we have continued to divide the (south) region into areas of American influence (if not outright control), we have repeatedly angered the Chinese & the Russians who have been fighting their side of the proxy-wars for the same reasons: access to critical energy resources.

We have long staked our ‘claim’ to Saudi, Kuwaiti, and other energy resources – just as Russia & China have held strategic support and trade agreements with Syria, Iran, and others. When seeking control – or even influence – over a Eurasian geographic area is the objective, global affairs become much clearer in their intent.

One must view the Arab Spring in this light as well. The Arab Spring was not a spontaneous birth of liberty-loving Muslim nations. It was the calculated result of international agitation by global leftists. Our invasion of Libya and the subsequent murder of her leader (good riddance) was (in my estimation) for the dual purpose of securing the energy interests of the ‘west’ (eurasian) region, and providing a source of arms, through which we could arm the Free Syrian rebels in our proxy-war with Russia. Benghazi, on 11SEP12, was the CIA working to move to arms from Libya to Syria, and being attacked by parties opposed to such maneuvering. Our President, and those in his cabinet, knew from the beginning and have kept it a secret, to prevent their plan from being exposed. Think of the geopolitical implications of a pro-American Syria, after Russia spent years cultivating her leadership.

Our president didn’t have the temerity to openly support the people of Iran in their uprising. Isn’t it convenient that an Arab Spring hasn’t occurred in Saudi Arabia? Why? Because the Saudi regime is the seat of power for mideast oil production. They are the linchpin for the continued dominance of the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. We act in their interest, and they act in ours, to the extent that both sides find the actions beneficial. The house of Saud also spreads Wahhabi islam to the corners of the earth.

In furtherance of the global battle for American preeminence, or the destruction of same, the American people have twice elected a diplomatic neophyte and radical idealist whose grasp on reality is so far from being solid that he makes Cynthia McKinney look credible. He was pushed to the fore of U.S. politics by globalist lefties because he was a coward who didn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. He was (and remains) utterly predictable. He is a useful idiot.

Our Future In The Near-Term

When global dominance is viewed as the motivation of our national direction over the last 20 years, one begins to see a picture that doesn’t look very pretty. Combine our geopolitical activities with the ever-increasing surveillance state in which we live, and the picture becomes downright terrifying.

We have become wild hawgs and we’ve slowly allowed a fence to be constructed around us, as we gorged ourselves upon the “free food” provided by allowing others to manage our lives for us. Our relative security has created a lack of vigilance and disinterest with the direction our country is headed. No one seems to care, so long as the swag continues to flow freely, and our programming goes uninterrupted.

We have breached the point-of-no-return in our quest for global dominance. We must continue to push our agenda, or cede to the enemy (Russia/China). I have been saying, and will continue to, that our nation – and indeed the globe – is headed for a conflagration, the likes of which we have never seen. It’s on the horizon.

If you have never read Zbigniev Brzezinski’s The Grand Chessboard, please do. Written in 1998, the book is prescient to the future of American geopolitics for the past decade-and-a-half. We find ourselves late in the narrative, with multiple uncooperative adversaries.

Prepare yourself and don’t say you weren’t warned.
