Australia: Muslim inmates in maximum security jails given taxpayer-funded microwaves for Ramadan

While Australian authorities are giving these special privileges and accommodations to Muslim inmates, prisons are hotbeds of jihad recruitment and activity. Instead of stopping that recruitment activity, these Australian prisons are aiding and abetting it by making it more appealing to be a Muslim prisoner than a non-Muslim prisoner. They will reap what they so.

UNREST is growing inside two of Victoria’s maximum-security jails over Muslims being given taxpayer-funded microwave ovens in their cells during the period of Ramadan.

Inmates at Barwon and Melbourne Assessment Prison who identify as Muslim have the microwaves in their cells so they can heat their food up after sunset, the Herald Sun can reveal.

Strict fasting is observed betweendawn [sic] and sunset during Ramadan, which runs from May 26 to June 24.

It is understood the issue has caused unrest among non-Muslims within the jails.

About 9 per cent of Victoria’s total prison population is Muslim, but the Herald Sun has been told around 20 per cent of the state’s maximum-security prisoners are Muslim.

A source said: “The Muslims in those prisons have microwaves in their cells.

“They have been given the microwaves and are given specially prepared meals,” the source said.

“These meals are really good quality, like what you would find in a nice Turkish restaurant in Sydney Rd.

“The special feasts they are getting is really upsetting the other prisoners.”

The microwaves will be taken away once Ramadan ends.

Insiders claimed some Muslim prisoners observing Ramadan had been excused from work duties but were still picking up their pay — but Corrections Victoria has denied this.
The taxpayer-funded microwaves have caused unrest in the prisons.

“Some of them don’t have to work … they are just sitting there doing nothing and they still get paid,” the source said. “It’s causing friction inside.”…
