Supposedly Racist Dress Code Could Cost Business Essential Liquor License

Barry Goldwater took massive heat for opposing the misguided Civil Rights Act of 1964, which for all its good intentions did away with our fundamental right of freedom of association, as well as the right to set standards at private venues that cannot be overridden by authoritarian decree. Decades later, we find ourselves living in a culture that regards even dress codes as “racist.” From Chicago:

The popular pizzeria and bar “Bottled Blonde” is under fire for a lengthy dress code that some are calling racist. …

Criticism of it being racist comes with the dress codes’ ban on certain clothing such as “baggy pants.” …

Now, the bar’s liquor license is in jeopardy. Management will face City Council as they discuss the license, but it is likely that the wardrobe rules will also come into question.

Attempting to maintain a certain atmosphere by asking people not to come into your private business with their hats on wrong, wearing their britches at mid-thigh so that a foot of underpants shows, can now result in being forced into bankruptcy through loss of a liquor license. The word for this is tyranny.

We are reaching the point where standards not only are not prevalent; they are not allowed.
