(Before It's News)

Where else does a moderate elitist Republican state senator from Florida tease that he is mulling over a potential gubernatorial run?

At his second home in The Hamptons or Boothbay Harbor, Maine.

State Senator Jack Latvala (R) has been threatening Floridians with a possible run for governor in 2018 for several months, and now it appears as if he could actual follow through with that threat.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Latvala convened 120 of he’s best political and non-political amigos to celebrate his and his wife’s second wedding anniversary, where he told them that August 16 was the day he would make a formal announcement on his whether or not he would seek the Republican gubernatorial nomination.

We hear Republican State Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater,sounded like a probable candidate for Florida governor as some 120 friends and political allies gathered at his place in Boothbay Harbor, Maine to celebrate his second wedding anniversary to wife Connie — and buzz about his possible run for the Republican gubernatorial nomination against Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and possibly Florida House Speaker Richard Corcoran and U.S. Rep. Ron. DeSantis.,

Latvala has some big bucks to spend, and has favors to call on to help him make a possible run viable.

While this is all true, fact of the matter is that the elder statesman won’t be able to win a statewide race, regardless of how much money he pumps into faux media outlets to give him positive press.

If all of the interested political suspects get into the race, the GOP gubernatorial primary contests will consist of AG Commissioner Adam Putnam, U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, and Speaker Richard Corcoran.
