Muslim mother ‘forced to resign’ from Islamic faith organisation after attending gay son’s wedding

The irony is that LGBT leadership stands with these Islamic organizations.

When my organization, AFDI, ran an ad campaign highlighting the Muslim oppression of gays under Islamic law, gay leaders and organizations attacked me.

Last year, I spoke at an LGBT event at the RNC decrying the treatment of gays under Islam, and the mainstream media attacked the event with a vengeance. This is gay leadership. They condemn me (and my colleagues) who oppose the most brutal and extreme ideology on the face of the earth, while stumping for their executioners. They were loud and proud against our ads (below). They were holding press conferences condemning me. Gay organizations in America say nothing about this, but loudly condemned my ad campaign highlighting Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia. That includes the San Francisco Board of Examiners, the Human Rights Commission, SFHRC head transgender Theresa Sparks, but most especially the enemedia.  They called our ads hate and issued a resolution condemning our AFDI ad campaign (the first of its kind) against our organization for merely quoting Muslim political leaders, spiritual leaders and cultural voices in the Muslim community who call for the torture and death of gay people.

A mother says she has been forced to resign as secretary general of an Islamic faith organisation after she attended the marriage of her gay son.

Earlier this month, a gay Muslim man named Ali Reza married his partner Paul in Vancouver.

It comes after a couple who had one of the UK’s first same-sex marriages involving a Muslim partner received online abuse, some from fellow Muslims.

Ali Reza’s family gave their full support and celebrated the wedding, but they soon became the target of public condemnation from leaders of their Shia Ithna-Asheri sect, also known as Khoja.

A petition was started calling for Ali Reza’s mother, Siddika, to resign from her position as secretary general of NASIMCO (the Organisation of North American Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities).

It also called for the resignation of the organisation’s president, Mohammad A Dewji, saying he knew about the wedding in advance but failed to condemn it.

The groom’s mother, Siddika, was forced to resign from her position at NASIMCO.

Her resignation notice, sent in the form of an open letter, describes how she came to accept her son’s homosexuality and support his marriage to Paul.
