Washington Pos Hires Muslim Writer To Defend ‘Jihad’

The Washington Pos has an opinion piece titled, “‘Jihad’ is not a dirty word”. It was written by someone named Qasim Rashid and published on July 8. The piece is a response to the Islamist Linda Sarsour using ‘Jihad’ in a speech. Lots of people reacted strongly for her call for jihad and with good reason.

Jihad evokes images of beheadings, setting people on fire in steel cages, lining other people up and killing them with automatic weapons, and suicide bombings.

But this writer tells us it doesn’t mean any of those things.

Contrary to what extremists and anti-Muslim personalities claim, the word “jihad” does not mean “to wage holy war,” or “to kill the infidel,” or “to commit terrorism.” The word “jihad” means “to struggle.”

Yeah, right. The Koran allows Muslims to lie. It calls the act, “Taqiyah’. Wikipedia has this:

Taqiyya is an Islamic juridical term whose shifting meaning relates to when a Muslim is allowed, under Sharia law, to lie.”

So Rashid is following the tenets of his religion. Do any of you believe what he and the Pos are trying to tell you?
