Greece On Alert: The Rise of The Islamic Triangle In The Balkans

Dateline, Athens, Greece, 2017: The concerned observers in Greece are beginning to notice in the Balkans the outlines of a future cornerstone of Islamic presence in Europe. The 2015 mass migration of Syrian, Asiatic and African Muslims into Europe rubbed Greece the wrong way for many reasons. For one, Greece was already at that time engaged in highly unpleasant negotiations with Germany, her largest creditor, through the mediation of bureaucratic philistines of the European Union. The demoralized and publicly humiliated Greece was being portrayed by Merkel’s Germany as Europe’s basket case nation with enormous domestic problems stemming from a culture of socialist privilege at the public expense and the tradition of accrual of more debt to cover old debt, where almost no one works in any productive unionized job. Then suddenly, Greece got drowned in a deluge of fit Muslim males who were painted in the media as “unfortunate refugees in search of their missing human rights“. Suddenly, nobody in the mainstream media was questioning Greece about her past sins and everyone assumed that poor Greece could afford to shelter hundreds of thousands of dodgy and inassimilable Muslim males. And yet, already at that time (2015-2016) there were almost 500,000 practicing Muslims in Athens, working the unattractive menial jobs on the black market for cash (just as their brethren do in Moscow), all crammed into slums and outlying areas where they lead their mental existence in a parallel universe outside the reality of Greece, whose people are nominally Christian Orthodox, although practically speaking, many Greeks are people with material concerns for whom religion is not a life priority, to put it mildly. For this reason, there is a war going on between the Greek Orthodox Church and the leftist Greek government about permits for the expansion of Muslim institutions in Greece (including the money for the largest house of worship in Greece – the grand mosque of Athens construction project). The legally acceptable state of segregation of ghettos in the West (which the Left tacitly accepts, making it a major example of leftist hypocrisy) present in all Western countries is today a state of separation between Muslims (ghetto) and non-Muslims (individualism of the native citizenry), between the Whites and non-Whites, between the have’s and the have-not’s. The existence of this is in line with a traditional British domestic social structure in which there are parallel societies segregated by income into social classes, going back to the factory slums of the First Industrial Revolution filled with simmering resentments, which Marx’s associate Friedrich Engels described in his early writings. Add Islam to the mix and you have the toxic brew that is festering today behind the scenes.

Unlike any other immigrants, the immigrants of Islam are held together by a strong religiously political glue that prevents most Muslim immigrants from assimilating into the most basic forms of civilized Western norms. The immigrants themselves sense their own incompatibility with the natives. However, the mosques in which they gather serve to reinforce this feeling and bank on the longevity of this separation. Many Muslim women volunteer for their subservient role of breeders and housewives. They feel comfortable exercising their secret influence upon men from behind the scenes, rather than up front in the risky way in which the somewhat atheistic emancipated women of the West do. All that Muslim immigrants are expected to do in the West is work, usually doing the jobs that most natives prefer not to do – and this is especially true in Greece, and nowhere more so than in Athens, the busy capital.

The ideology of Islam is armed with fearful taboos and serves as a decrepit vision of an ancient lifestyle keeping its victims self-segregated through a strenuous network of family connections, linkages of blood, of race, and common heritage. Islam as a body of ideas seeks to assimilate others into itself and the one thing furthest from the aims of Islam is to have the Islamic people assimilate into the non-Muslim environments. The Left in the West does not believe in this understanding of Islam since the Left has always been this weak attitude of political commitment to an easy way out of any situation (its hallmark) – and naive but malicious leftist activists imagine that Islam will go the way of Christianity in the West, that is – die off and become a dead weight after a few years of exposure to the decadence of the hedonistic West. The Left feels that the western culture of consumerism will erase the bonds that connect Muslims with Islam. The Left has ruined the education system in America and England, so it stands to reason that the Left cannot comprehend the power of Islamic education – that is – the power of the Arabic language and the old educational consensus around the core ideas formulated in the language of Arabs many centuries ago – causing the intellectual state of permanent mental arrest among the Muslims. The culture of gratuitous mass entertainment, through which the idle time away from work is chiefly spent in West Europe and North America, is woefully insufficient to make Arabic speakers abandon their entrenched attitudes based around a definite world-outlook rooted in Islam.

In this blog article written by a concerned and relatively well-known Greek writer and social commentator by the name of Nefeli Lygerou, you can see the dark clouds of Islam’s rise on the horizons of Greece being described by an alert watchman. “Islamic Triangle” is a good phrase with which to describe the formation of strong Muslim-only regions at the gates of Europe (triangulating Bosnia, Albania, and Bulgaria). Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Greece are caught inside this large geographic-political triangle.

Threat to Greece From the “Islamic triangle”

Nefeli Lygerou writes:

The terrorist attack in Britain has intensified the intention of the Greek authorities to be on the lookout for terrorists in Greece, recognizing that Islamic terrorism does not obey rules. Greece may not have a tradition of colonialism and therefore not be the first target of Islamic ideologues, but there is no guarantee that no attack can take place. It is unrealistic to think that what happens in the rest of Europe can not reach Greece.  Authorities in charge of security, in fact, consider potential targets and therefore focus their attention on restaurants, concerts and archaeological sites. The overconcentration of refugees and immigrants into the Greek territory represents a potential threat. The fact that many of them are desperate because they are trapped here reinforces the chances of turning them into “lone wolves.”

It is positive news, however, that to-date – according to the available services of the competent authorities – no Greek Muslim religious citizen has gone to Syria and Iraq to fight with the ISIS. On the contrary, there are many Muslim citizens of European countries who have done so. According to valid information, the in-depth investigations of the relevant services have not identified any organized nuclei for a terrorist enterprise. They remain, however, on high alert status, with their eyes focused on several aspects:

First of all, “the think-tank” of Islamists or violent Islamic ideologues are the prisons. It has been noticed that Muslims in prisons with a criminal record are radicalizing and creating terrorist nuclei, recruiting their offenders to Islamic fundamentalism and, possibly, Islamic terrorism. Always according to the same information, there is a “pool” of young Islamists from where a problem could arise.

Secondly, there are the refugees in immigrant accommodation structures and the ghettoised areas of the center of Athens. Most Muslim immigrants live in urban slums, or in informal communities, in places that are difficult to supervise and difficult to apply law in. Feeling serious problems in their daily lives, and if there is a moment of despair – it can lead to Islamic fanaticism. The alienation, the humiliation, the lack of opportunities and simple boredom makes young Muslims particularly vulnerable.

Of great interest to the security authorities are also the dozens of informal places of worship of Muslims in Greece. As is well known, throughout Attica there are uncontrollable illegal mosques in underground parking areas.

Imams with their hate speech

Their attention is directed to imams with hate speech. There – according to the same sources – they are proselytizing and then recruiting. In Albania, two imams were arrested in their mosques a while ago. In addition to propagating the most extreme version of Islam, they recruited the most fanatical young men and organized their transition to the warring regions in the Middle East. The phenomenon of such imams has long ceased to be a rare exception and not limited to Albania. The arrests, trials and imprisonment have been advanced by the authorities in Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even in Bulgaria. There, the Muslim populations were more closely connected with Turkish national ideology, but lately they have become prone to Islamic extremism. All of the above leads us to the threat that arises from the proximity to such areas. There may not be confirmed cases of Islamic terrorism in the Greek territory, but they are right next to us. According to reliable information, imams recruit people from mountainous villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, southern Serbia (Presevo) and Albania to be used as guides to trespassers in unattended border crossings. They are the ones who, for a fee, help the jihadists struggling to reach Europe. According to the same information, the ISIS leadership, finding itself losing control of more and more territories in Iraq and Syria, shifts the center of gravity of action into the West through the organization of terrorist attacks. If Raqqa falls, an informal capital of the jihadists in northeastern Syria, this trend will take on large dimensions. A very large number of jihadists will try to travel to Europe in any way, and many will do it, assisted by their crypto-homosexual friends with European passports [the Fifth Column]. This current, combined with the existing terrorist pockets in Europe, creates a basis for large-scale terrorist attacks.

The Islamic triangle

It is nowadays commonplace for the security authorities to recognize that the massive entry of immigrant refugees has allowed Europe to open the doors to significant numbers of Islamists or Islamic activists who were already jihadists or are in the process of radicalization and are therefore a reservoir for recruitment of Islamic terrorists. From there, future ISIS attacks in Europe will emerge. The Islamic extremists are trying to create in the Balkans a “Islamic triangle” whose three sides are Muslims in Bosnia, the Albanian (Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and southern Serbia) and Muslims in southwestern Bulgaria (near the Turkish border). Obviously, such an evolution will not leave Greece unaffected. This is an additional reason why the interest of both Greek and foreign security services has been recently focused on Kosovo and Albania. Clusters of intelligence agents are combing for evidence of both the training of jihadists in the Kosovo camps and the smuggling of arms from Albania and Bulgaria with the ultimate recipient being the ISIS in Syria or Iraq.

The Greek security agencies focus their attention mainly on the Greek territory, watching people and places where there is a concentration of fanatic Islamists, almost exclusively Sunni. Priority is given to migrants from Asia and Africa, both old and young. Also, passers-by, even those with a European passport, are also scrutinized. Experience shows that there is a higher risk for terrorism with those moving to Europe, passing through a number of countries. According to well-informed sources, an information collection network has been set up, and small-scale preventive operations are being carried out in key areas.

Attention is also given to the observation of all the movements associated with the construction of the minaret mosque in Botaniko with a capacity of 350 people. The competent authorities seek from the outset to exclude the possibility that the mosque will become a proselytizing center. While it is acknowledged (and tracked) in the developments to the north that the refugee onslaught and refugees-migratory flows in the Aegean may increase – our borders (land and sea) remain largely “undervalued”. The staffing of the security services concerned with this is below the needs of the scale of the problem, which is determined by the circumstances. The incidents with the Turkish commandos who have sought asylum highlights the problem of the EU border policy. To spend more money, the bribery of 1,000-2,000 euros for the Turkish captain of the refugee smuggling boat, indicates the path of the movement of things.
