Trump’s Predicted Leftward Shift Begins

Maybe Chuck Schumer isn’t a reptile with a block of ice for a heart after all. See how touched he is to realize how much Trump likes him:

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) was caught on a hot mic Thursday saying President Donald Trump “likes us.”

The senator was speaking to staffers shortly after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s floor speech when, in reference to Trump, the senator said, “he likes us. He likes me anyway,” according to a transcription from the Washington Examiner.

The comment came the day after Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had dinner with Trump at the White House. The topic of conversation was centered on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration amnesty program, according to the Democratic lawmakers. After the dinner, Schumer and Pelosi released a statement claiming Trump agreed to support DACA legislation in exchange for the Democrats’ support in passing a border security package, one without border wall funding.

Of course Trump likes Schumer. Why else would he have shoveled so much campaign money at him? The pair of conniving New York City liberals have much in common.

Amnesty is on the way. Its inevitability is already having an effect at the border:

[N]ew data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) shows that border crossings have spiked for the past four consecutive months, despite the hot weather, which usually causes an annual drop in border crossings in the summer. It’s quite obvious that the initial perception of Trump as a strict law enforcer has been revised in the eyes of potential migrants, following Trump’s promise to pass amnesty within the next six months.

The amnesty sales pitch has already been rolled out. If only someone had warned us…

Legal experts are theorizing that Trump’s massive betrayal on his core promise could result his impeachment. Ann Coulter, author of In Trump We Trust, is already on board with the idea.

Even the Trump true believers at Breitbart are beginning to acknowledge that they have been played by Amnesty Don.

Prominent Trumpette Laura Ingraham has acquired a clue:

At least Sean Hannity and El Rushbo will never doubt The Donald… unless they start to lose audience share. That would leave him with Lou Dobbs, who can be counted on to self-parodically drone that the Deep State is to blame.

Did anyone really think that the guy who just a few years ago castigated Mitt Romney for his allegedly “mean-spirited” and “maniacal” suggestion that illegals self-deport was even half-serious about enforcing immigration law?

To the extent he is deep enough to have an ideology, Trump has spent a lifetime absorbing the viewpoint of his NYC liberal elite environs. His campaign was a swindle on a par with Trump University.

By the way, Trump will be jacking up taxes too.
