Deutch, Democrats hypocritically forget their history of voting to raise debt ceiling

Politics is a blood sport, and the players involved in the game, all have blood on their hands. While the new Republican-proposed tax will surely bring long-overdue tax relief to millions of Americans, the plan allegedly saddles another $1.5 trillion to the $20 trillion national debt.

Congressional Democrats were quick to denounce the GOP effort to slash taxes, and some like Rep. Ted Deutch (pictured), who has never seen a tax increase he didn’t vote for or support, are calling the measure a “scam.”

While this kind of political rhetoric is to be expected, the hypocrisy Democrats are showing in using this potential $1.5 trillion deficit increase against Republicans is richer than a hot fudge Sunday from Dairy Queen.

Deutch appears to forget that ever since his arrival in Washington, D.C. back in early 2010, he helped President Obama raise the debt ceiling by another $7.917 trillion.

To be fair, we looked up other past presidents and found that they all contributed to the U.S. national debt.

President George W. Bush increased the national debt by $5.849 trillion, which most can be attributed the funding of the “war on terror” during his first term in office.

We can’t forget about President Clinton, who’s non-wartime effort added another $1.396 trillion to the overall debt.

Papa Bush added $1.554 trillion, but during time in the Oval Office, there was a little conflict in the Middle East called Desert Storm.

If all goes as planned for Republicans, and the tax reform bill is signed into law, the proposed tax cuts will put more money in Americans pockets, which would most-likely lead them to invest and spend.

Sales tax revenues increase when individuals like the Deutch family spend money.
